Hello, newbie here so if ive missed a threat or page be gentle hahah

so my 17 plate 540 been a epic car zero issues touches wood. lol

two weeks ago to apollo 13 light came on for battery management meaning zero brake lights or wipers or other kinda important things so got home phew....

called bentley guy i know he booked her in and said once they had ( after battery ) died getting on breakdown truck wow didnt know was a cord to open front trunk in wheel well lol great lets not leave a macbook their now lol

anyways had ot for two days called me all great she needed a battery wake up and all good perfect i said. drove her home with a nice goody bag of cakes of bentley and was like diet starts monday feeling hahha

few days later 10pm alarms goes off hmmmm run to get key wont do zero cant unlock pop doors nothing.

opened front stuck the citek on and still alarm calls garage owner i got it from as he. mate and said disconnect battery let alarm drain one hour later of on off on off

she died

nowwwwwww........ i seen some scary prices for mac batteries.

so has anyone had any deals where as seen on a a usa page you can send battery off for a re-life or something??

or anyone had a good aftermarket one????

chances are your battery is salvageable

Hard to tell for sure, but I think this sounds similar to my battery. It would hold a full voltage for about ten minutes, but would then suddenly drop to 2V. Solution was to buy a new battery.

Hi thanks for reply. Yeah got one of those noco power packs and it clicks and online says means battery dead lol it’s at 2.5v now last week Bentley managed to wake it and lasted a week lol 😂

Oh Jesus what was that cost and way oh why are some lasting 8 years and this is like 4/5 I’m like do I sell and get a Bentley or r8 for winter lol 😂

You probably have a Gen 2 battery, which are no longer available, so you'll need a Gen 3 plus the new controller. In the US that's about $4500. You can also fit any car battery, lead acid, AGM or lithium aftermarket and the car will work but you'll get a battery management warning.

Try to contact McMedics/EMF Audio. Sean is in process of making battery (GEN 1) but he might have ideas on GEN 2/3 also.

Rebuilding car includes new wiring, fuse box, and battery. On your car you must have the logic circuitry to maintain features provided by the battery. Dropping windows, batt level indication etc.

Just installed GEN 3 on my car, it`s a hassle to source out a used battery, but it might be easier for GEN 2 vs GEN 1 as I tried to do.

not to replt fate but i did the above and seems okay... mclaren did say as its cold it will need to be on the life support daily haha
