Oh I agree, I just thought it was funny that they are saying the new DB12 is "tuned within an inch of it's life", when it clearly isn't. And the advertised performance numbers are a bit disappointing. Why not give it 800HP and better performance? I don't think it would cut into the Valhalla, as it's a completely different, and heavier, car than the Valhalla.

I also agree, a detuned V12 in the Valhalla would have been awesome, but I think the AMG V8TT is still a good sounding engine.
800 hp now would mean really tuned within a mm of its life.... lol Lets not forget they have to do another DBS, bump up the future Vantage all on the same engine... Thats a lot of new cars they need to space out horsepower wise to keep them relevant. The AMG v8 TT is a great engine but my point is it becomes super difficult to differentiate these models on one engine...

The interior upgrade, which was desperately needed, is definitely going in the right direction, but the engine choice is a bit disappointing. I would be surprised if the car didn't get a V12 with at least one version, but arguably it should have it as base. Their closest competitor, the 812, does have it and it makes 120PS more than the V8 version, while still weighing 100kg++ less - and a new model that still retains the V12 and which will have probably 830-900PS is right around the corner.

With regards to the V8TT, the Valhalla is actually using the flat plane version of the engine, but even just talking about the crossplane variant, it already makes 707PS in the DBX, so I don't quite get why it's less powerful in what's supposed to be their flagship model.

Hence my disappointment that AM does not have a clue about their vehicle strategy moving forward relative to the competitive set. As to the V8 TT on the Valhalla still being of the same M177/78 family abeit with the LS2 flat plane for higher revving, undoubtedly its for higher rpm to compliment the hybrid system which is advantageous for low end torque and power. But nevertheless, very similar v8TT power across their platforms does not help them differentiate more their models like Ferrari does. Even Lamborghini has a V12 and V10(soon to be v8TT) program..
