No, but the lesson in this thread is aftermarket warranties are garbage. How much is their plan?

Run. Put 7k into TBills. Pay for repairs as you need them.

To be the devil advocate ..
the manager response whimsy the claim denied ? “the policy expired “
And still offering to pay for labor if the customer decide to renew it ..
Hopefully Kevin can confirm .

I can confirm the situation was true. I actually make every customer send me the ACUTUAL contract when we are requestted to file repair work with a 3rd party warranty company.

  • He WAS still in his contract period.
  • The oil pump WAS a covered repair item per the written contract.

The warranty company DID act like a snake and slithered all around the issue... Basically they found every excuse in the book to not pay the claim.

RESULT? Don't give your money to a stranger today, and HOPE they will give you a fraction of it back tomorrow.

Instead, Keep your money, and pay for any repairs IF they ever happen in the future.

I'm all about trying to figure a way to get it covered but the truth is that looks like its been leaking for a long time. in fact, it looks like all the fluid has leaked out and that's just been accumulating dirt forever. Best way here is to get the car in the air and clean that area really good with degreaser and pressure washer. then see if any more fluid comes out after several miles of use. If nothing else, at least have it clean for when you get it replaced.

You can pick up a good used one and pay somewhere around $600 labor to replace it and be done with it. I know you need a right side but they are on there. just keep looking

I cannot agree strongly enough with the forum members who have advocated for simply not purchasing any extended warranty/extended service contract/insurance policy. I would love to see a post from a statistician weighing in on this matter.
My intuition tells me that most costly, catastrophic failures are extremely unlikely in these cars. Sure it happens but it is unlikely. My 570s Spyder is two years out of warranty. The price for the McLaren factory extended warranty is $4500/year. I chose not to buy it. Of that $9000 I could have spent but didn’t, I am out of pocket about $3000 for various fixes over the last couple of years. That’s $6000 I still have.
Yes, I may have to buy a new engine someday. But I doubt it.

I like that percentage… My wife and kids think I am weird because I say shit like that all the time. My go-to when I’m gonna get somewhere quick is “I’ll be there in 37.5 seconds.”
