What a stunning car! I love the fact that McLaren owners are not afraid to go all out on unique colors. I, on the other had., picked Plateaux for my first McLaren which is under the radar. VO may be my next one.
Facts, in the sun is where it really shines, no pun intended, so much gold flakesBeautiful! I love Volcano Orange but it has it's eccentricities. Surprisingly difficult to photograph, subject to minor variations from panel to panel and very difficult/expensive to repair, but there is nothing like the amazing highlights in the sun!
That colour/wheel combo looks fantastic. Here are some pics at home!
Volcano Orange is particularly hard for a computer to model properly in a still image and most monitors/phones/screens aren't properly calibrated correctly even when it is correctly rendered. VO is so variable (based on lighting and angle) what they sent you is probably 100% correct but only from that exact camera angle and in that exact lighting environment under which it was simulated. I have a Volcano Orange car and I've taken plenty of pictures of it where I thought "gee that doesn't look anything like my car even though that IS my car!" and plenty where it looks like the pictures you took here. It's very lighting dependent. Same with Kingfisher Blue and Blade Silver.Jobama1 is absolutely correct. Not only is it tough to photograph, even the McLaren MSO department could not come close to capturing the way the car would look after waiting a month for them to send computer images (all colors on the configurator are misrepresented).
100% I have only seen my car for 3-4 days and in all different natural lighting and indoor lighting situations the car looks different. In direct "bright sunlight" you can see lots of gold flake (not my favorite), in partial sunlight its my favorite. With indoor lighting the color looks very red (not correct)! The MSO department did not capture the color correctly in their computer modeling so dont rely on that! Personally I could not be happer with VO.Volcano Orange is particularly hard for a computer to model properly in a still image and most monitors/phones/screens aren't properly calibrated correctly even when it is correctly rendered. I absolutely agree, this color is fantastic but when you see it live.
