Has anyone else been informed that their Artura delivery will be suddenly delayed? My build was supposed to have been completed in about a week and up until yesterday the word back from my dealer had been "yes, everything is on track". Yesterday I was informed that "due to supply chain / parts issues" my build completion is pushed out over a month and delivery is now "projected" to be a month and a half to two months late.

I'm sure the Artura line has surfaced many challenges for McLaren and sincerely I hope they are inundated with Artura business (and ramping up for the challenge) for the long term good of the company, but this last minute update has me questioning a bit what is really going on. A few things just don't add up.

There has been some discussion about this recently in the “Artura Deliveries” thread, as well as some others. I don’t know if anything concrete has been said yet, but if you look around you can find some info. Off the top of my head, @Superfluous is dealing with this issue currently.

As I understand it, those who received their Arturas will be keeping them and McLaren will fix the existing problem (last week, I was asked not to reveal the specific problem, but dealers are aware of the issue and can illuminate). If you did not receive your Artura, McLaren will be building you a new car. That includes recently built/shipped Arturas, as well as Arturas that have been sitting in various ports awaiting updates/clearance. McLaren will resume production -- with the fix -- in January. Apparently McLaren has resolved the issue and is promptly making the necessary production changes. Kudos to McLaren for doing so. Presumably McLaren will concurrently resolve the lesser issues (e.g., wifi connectivity). Both McLaren NA and my dealer have been very professional and supportive.

Thank you, @Superfluous . That makes a lot more sense. If anyone from McLaren is reading this, I think I speak for most people that we are 100% pulling for you. Get it right, fix what needs to be fixed, and us buyers will accomodate the (reasonable) delays. We want the Artura line to be a huge success that propels the company forward, not a massive cluster f due to rushing the product to market. Just don't tell me delivery is Feb 2024. ;-)

This is the right attitude. They make the most engaging fun cars to drive. Give them some time to right their ship. It’s better for all of us in the long run.

Super, could you give us more a tad more info for those of us that got delivery? I know you can't reveal anything, but is it a hardware issue? Is the car safe for us to drive or keep in our garage?

I just responded to your PM. It is a hardware issue. There is a fix for delivered cars. Your dealer needs to be in contact with McLaren NA.

Got updates from my sales. Scheduled to be complete 11/11/2022 but because of a complete rebuild (VIN will change), production will probably start next April to June.
I'm sent to the back of the line, and because of the issue fix timing, people who ordered after me will be receiving before me.
Yikes. Really sorry to hear that

There's one thing I don't understand. Already shipped cars are recieving parts replacement, but vehicles like mine are being fully rebuilt. There's a big gap.
By the way, demo cars are now prohibited to run till the fix.
Maybe the later VIN builds already delivered had more of the ’fixes’ already completed on the production line. The very early VIN cars need a full rebuild to incorporate all of the ‘fixes’ not to mention any degradation of battery (replacement/update) etc during a year+ in storage ….

Kind of insane they are screwing over their early supporters and pushing them to the end of the line when their cars were already built. Definitely should move all the people with built cars who are forced to rebuild to the front of the line. If I had an order and this happened, 100% cancel just because this is such a fucked up policy.

You ordered a pepperoni pizza, they accidentally made you mushroom. Oh shit sorry my bad. We can make you a new one but please go back in line. The logic makes 0 sense.

I was told the early VIN cars will be done first …

Hope so. I guess we will see what actually happens vs what people are posting.
Yeah these statements of ‘production will start in April’ don’t ring true to me given that the later already delivered VIN cars on the road can now be fixed here (so the fixes are understood already). More likely that production will restart, very soon if not already, and replacement cars will begin to be delivered in April ….
