Ferrari dealers are reporting problems with the 296GTB in customers' hands......given Ferrari produced a forerunner model, the million-dollar SF9O, with hybrid tech it just shows that this technology/drivetrain is at a beta.

I still think Mclaren are strategically correct to delay the launch until they judge its fit for purpose.....but I don't have one on order, yet, lol.
My transporter who also does roadside assistance for Ferrari was very busy bringing sf90’s back to the dealers for further work .

Sounds like I'm in a similar boat as Superflous. Sold my 570 through my dealer a couple months ago with the expectation the Artura was almost here. Only own one sports car at a time that I daily drive when the weather allows.

Early 200s VIN Artura. Was supposedly finalized and on its way from Baltimore a few weeks ago. Haven't heard from dealer yet, but its a good dealership with people I trust. Also left proceeds of sale in escrow with dealer for tax advantage on trade. Not so sure I want to wait around with that cash in escrow for a car that is on an uncertain timeline. Winter here, so I'm not too upset about a delay, but my patience will not last past March when the weather warms.

Same, sold my 570 based on dealer expectation of Dec 2021 delivery. But also have a 720 so will wait. Now anticipating an April delivery …

2 arturas delivered from my dealer to customers . Neither was from the first batch sitting at the port .

I was at my dealer when the second person took delivery last week . He was very excited . He said he waited 2.5 years (I believe that’s when he sold his previous mclaren )
Who is this second person and how do we pump them for information about any possible issues upcoming? :) We need names and numbers!

I also sold my 2020 507S Spider in October 2021, expecting my Artura to arrive at that time. Mid-600s VIN. I was told two weeks ago that it was at Baltimore port and would be in my hands before Christmas. I guess things have changed again, based on the news in this forum. I have a Tesla Model S Plaid that I get to have fun with in the meantime. Given I have a daily driver, I'm not crazy worried about another delay. I just hope it's right when it delivers. My dealership is 2 hours from my hometown and warranty maintenance would be a hassle. It sounds like they want to get it right and lessen our burden of hassles with the car. This is good news. I'm still excited for the car despite the 2 year journey. Thanks everyone for sharing information on this forum. I'm sure my dealer rep appreciates it as well, as it minimizes my email communication with him when he doesn't have the best responses ready.

I'm in a similar boat regarding distance to dealer. Flyover states suck for that. I'd rather have a hassle-free car than get it and have it in service every other month. The wait continues.

Yes but McLaren appears to see it differently - they don’t want to only be a low volume Hyper Car manufacturer. Their ambition appears to be what you say they are not - an alternative to Ferrari and Lamborghini & Porsche with occasional Ultimate Cars. To achieve that ambitious goal they need ’feeder’ cars and a range extending through the Super Cars.
Of course in making the attempt McLaren current management runs the risk of being bought out by one of the named competitors … Great motivator for success 😀
that ambition is what got them into trouble in the first place...

Yes - I don’t think the goal has changed for McLaren. Better people making the attempt?

If we look at the past Ferrari would have failed without Fiat take over. Lamborghini would be history without VW and Porsche, well they bit the tiger and got eaten (by VW), such gratitude for a Cayenne ..

Hope springs eternal :D

“We're down to the final month of 2022 but McLaren has yet to deliver a unit of its prized Artura to a customer. The hybrid sports car, which was introduced in mid-2021, faced delivery delays due to the ongoing chip shortage late last year. However, McLaren is facing another issue when it comes to producing its first-series production hybrid supercar.”

I got mine in early November. No complaints at all other than the fact that I can't get the wifi to stay connected to my house for updates. The car is exactly what I was looking for which was a McLaren that is easily daily drivable with most of the creature comforts you expect from other cars (carplay, sound system, ect.)

not sure if you remember the whole Porsche VW event, but porsche bought a bunch of options on VW and at one stage owned 43%of VW with options for anohter 30% or so, which then triggered the mother of all short squeezes pushing up the price by 500% or so. But porsche had borrowed quite a bit of money to do so and after the GFC found themselves being bailed out by VW. WIthout that Porsche would still probably be an indenpendent company if they hadnt tried buying a company many times its size.
but yeah lambo is up there with Aston in winning the no of bankruptcies...

Yes and now spun off —
“Now that Volkswagen (VOW3) has officially demerged from its luxury car divsion, Porsche in an initial public offering (IPO) on Thursday, here are the details in full on the current Porsche (P911) share price and other information that investors maybe keen to know. “

Any word from your dealer regarding any issues that they’ll need to fix?

Glad you’re enjoying it!!!

Just got my Ford Bronco delivered to me last month after waiting 2.8 years from my original order. Not some hand built, exotic car. A FORD BRONCO, and there is still thousands of customers who won’t get their Bronco delivered for another year or two. Think about that, waiting potentially 4+ years for a Ford Bronco. Chill the heck out people, in case you have been living under a rock, delays and pushbacks are all over the auto industry right now, not just Mclaren. If Mclaren needs to push things back to make the Artura perfect, then so be it. Because of the unexpected delays, my Artura will be now be arriving most likely around the same time my 750 arrives, which is fine. If people are that upset about the Artura delays, then go order another new Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche. O wait, you can’t because they have massive pushback/ orders/ delays as well.

There is currently a back order of 219,000 units for the new Range Rover Sport. All orders for the forseable future are being downgraded to not include the upgraded audio system along with some other tech-related items. Amazing what this "chip shortage" is doing to the car industry. I drive by several huge Toyota dealers here everyday and their new and used lots are maybe 10% full at the most. It's nuts. I'm assuming all vehicles are spoken for so once they arrive at the dealership, they are picked up by customers who've been waiting months (or years in your case LOL).

No, have not heard anything nor have I had any issues apart from a "rear view camera fault" when going into reverse which happened the second day I had the car and has not happened since.
