View attachment 224890 I've put about 200miles on the Artura, including some good laps at the local track. The car runs great and drives really nice both in the city with traffic as well as on the track. Two things to note: While on the track I was able to push it to 150mph on the large straight but then when it was time to break I almost ran out of track. The brakes felt really weak and it caught me off-guard, but afterwards my friend reminded me that it has ceramic breaks and those need to be very well heated before they break good. I had done about 2-3 laps before the fast test and I guess I need to worry more about heating the breaks more. One of the reasons I never liked ceramic breaks. In the evening I took the car out for dinner and when I started the car to come back I got this transmission error. I had to drive back home slowly and planned to take the car back to the dealership but the message was gone the next day and it's been gone since. I'll update with anything new on that regard.
Just curious if this issue was resolved and what the dealer said about the transmission fault message? Reason I ask is because I’ve put about 500 miles on my Artura and experienced “Hybrid System Failure” while driving 80 mph on a highway on Thanksgiving day. The car went on limp mode, had to coast and navigate through heavy traffic on I-95 till I was able to pull over the side of the road. I was unable to restart the car for about 15 minutes and when it eventually came back to life, had a “Engine Failure Message.” Road side assistance was useless. Connected with my salesperson and have the car scheduled to be towed to the shop. Hoping it’s a fluke, too soon for these types of issues.

I haven’t checked the owners manual for artura . However , I had the same issue with p1 (after owning it for 7 years ). I was stuck in a parking lot for 5 hours at a cars and coffee and the car just wouldn’t start . I called a third party mclaren tech and he came by and it fired up on his first attempt . He was starting up the car differently then how I normally do .

I went back to the owners manual and there is basically 5 different ways to start it up (ie; don’t put the foot on the brake and press the start/stop button . Let the car get into the accessory mode (about two seconds ), then foot on brake and press the start /stop button and car fired up right away .

I felt pretty foolish 😩

Yes, those circumstances sound nearly identical to a running car failing at 80mph.🙄

Maybe something like that happened . Get some more experience with the cars . Become important enough that techs will proactively reach out to you in real time and have sales people , engineers reach out to you with what you think is a quirk and they’ll solve it for you .

Keep going with the snide remarks though and Jill the forums some more .,,

Have you found the relevant section yet in the manual that details the recovery steps to follow when the engine shuts down at 80mph?

Respectfully, a Mac buyer should not have to "become important enough" -- e.g., purchase 5+ Macs -- to expect good service and follow-through on his/her first Mac. Rather, when a brand new $260,000 - $300,000 Mac breaks down after a mere 500 miles and thereby strands the new owner on the side of the road, Mac should bend over backwards to help the new owner -- even if he/she has not yet purchased 5+ macs and thereby achieved "important enough" status. Stated another way, the new owner should be "important enough" simply because he/she paid $260,000 - $300,000 for the car.

That’s not what I meant . A car is broken didn then it’s broken down wherever . You’ll learn over time that this roadside assistance thing is generally not an on demand service . Built up areas have transporters who are familiar with supercars and they don’t necessarily come right away …. Many don’t even have the insurance for them ….

That wasn’t even my point with the posting . The point was that sometimes these things are very simple fixes (as was my case ) and many people will help you in real time if need be …

It would have been a more interesting post If the person said how it actually got onto the transport truck . Was it able to be fired up ? , how did the e brake get disengaged if it didn’t start , etc., etc .

I actually missed read your posting and what you were responding to . Let me try this again .

Invisible wave seems to have everything figured out . In reality he has very little experience with the subject matter . His opinions , writings are so distorted with the information in the real world . He creates a lot of false narratives and snide comments . His only information is what he reads on these forums . I actually feel bad for those of you who only get info about these cars from this forum.

The people on these forums who do have the the information and experience do not want to engage with people here any longer .

People are not kind to this forum elsewhere .

Thank you @unmac for your comments. As a fairly new Mac owner, I seek to learn from the more experienced and seasoned Mac owners. The Artura is a new animal and I absolutely love my new car and was truly seeking other’s comments and experiences and not at all bashing the brand.

Yet for all your apparent knowledge and sagacity, you confused a simple P1 procedure that is covered in the manual with a failure that caused the engine to stop at 80mph. And you claim I'm the one spreading misleading information.... 😂

This informs, from the 3rd quarter 2022 results

After 30 September 2022 the Group identified certain technical upgrades that are required to ensure Artura customers enjoy optimum long-term performance. These upgrades are resulting in delays to wholesale shipments and customer deliveries.

What could this be?
My understanding is a change of oil cooler and software upgrades. The management of battery and engine integration which is software/sensor-driven.

Don't forget any changes need to be tested and proven to work.
