I give up….what’s the issue here?
“Conditioning Engine.’ You can’t just ‘start it’ and go using the gas engine. It ‘starts’ in EV mode and you have to wait until the conditioning engine light goes off then the gasoline engine starts and can be used. To be fair it takes less than 30 seconds most of the time. Apparently a new OTA update for US markets...Just an FYI...

I read something about this. I seem to recall it was aimed at reducing engine wear?

Anyone else concerned about the delay in the early VIN (<330) deliveries? We see deliveries of later build cars but no delivery of early cars that have been sitting around for a year …. Can’t be just software, what else? Battery replacement? New components/modules? Engine/Transmission seals? Haven’t seen any info from McLaren ….

you can also start the car in non electric and have it fire up. I consider it just a “bug” for warmup for the mill

I’m a bit worried about this. I have a deposit on a low 200s VIN on what was originally a MY22 car. Sounds like the MY has been updated to 23 and “build” finalized in October and heading my way now. I think it has been at the port since June or so. I’ll still take delivery but have some concerns and am glad it is a relatively low spec car in the unlikely event I don’t like it. Drove a demo and it was undoubtedly faster than my 570. Went extremely hard on it for almost an hour on back roads with full launches and stops. Familiar braking and steering to the 570 but a smoother ride overall and much quicker from a dig. I’ll be happy if my car feels like the demo.

I'm a low 600s VIN and the latest is that my Artura is on a boat, expected to port in Baltimore 1st week of December. Delivery expected 3rd week in December at my local dealership. I was previously given Sept, Oct and Nov delivery ETAs.

It was about altering the engine cooling hardware as I remember. The oil cooler was said to be the culprit iirc.

Finally got my VIN today and I’m same range as you…

Dealer called and said we locked in 2022 pricing…which I think saves us a net of 20K ballpark. Anyone else know details on 2022 pricing vs 2023? Think she was trying to make me feel better about the delays and false promises

If I’m expecting delivery around Christmas, then when do you guys suggest asking my insurance company if they will cover? Got VIN recently with window spec sheet in pdf
Just wait till car is delivered. Your current insurance will cover the car for like 30 days till you activate the insurance. No reason to start paying till you actually get the car.

i suggest asking them for a quote earlier and just getting the ball rolling. I don’t add the car until the sales contract is signed. It’s not your car, it’s the dealer’s car until then.

This does mean I do insure the vehicle before delivery if I do an out of state or all remote deal in which I’ve paid before delivery.

Zero reason to start paying on insurance before paperwork is signed. Literally just lighting money on fire. I currently have a quote and just have to pay for the policy once I sign papers.
