I think McLaren NA should give me one so I can write a long-term review. Who can make that happen?
We have Frank's email address, no doubt he can still pull some strings.I think McLaren NA should give me one so I can write a long-term review. Who can make that happen?
^ ThisThe general gist from the 3 or 4 I watched/read was that it's quiet and boring at lower speeds on the road and comes alive when pushing and on the track. That seems to me like close to the perfect recipe. No doubt there are future variations to come which will be lighter, more raw, and more track-focused, but that will be at the expense of daily road use performance.
Doubt that - he was unfortunately pushed out. Very rare that a company admits mistakes and asks advice from former displaced employees ….We have Frank's email address, no doubt he can still pull some strings.
You read that and seriously thought I was suggesting that he email Frank to get a test drive in an Artura??? 😂Doubt that - he was unfortunately pushed out. Very rare that a company admits mistakes and asks advice from former displaced employees ….
Oops 😅 no. thought your response was to ZP …. Just woke upYou read that and seriously thought I was suggesting that he email Frank to get a test drive in an Artura??? 😂

This is a big part of the McLaren witchcraft imo. When I bought my car, I was shocked at how nice it felt to drive at normal road speeds, then I was shocked all over again when I got it on a track. It's like having two cars for the price of one, it has a Jekyll and Hyde character. I really like the 600LT, but I know if I bought one, every time I drove it on the road I'd be wondering why I didn't just keep what I had.^ This
Nah, Zombie doesn't speak to me since the political discussion shit show.Oops 😅 no. thought your response was to ZP …. Just woke up
More importantly, what about the acceleration? How does it compare to the 600LT or 720S?Had drive today. My focus was on getting to know/learn the car switches and controls so I don’t have much to add to the press performance videos. Was surprised to see that in EV only mode there is regen braking when you take your foot off the go pedal - did that on the freeway and saw the battery charge indicator come on. In the other modes charging only occurs with the ICE motor running. Overall the Artura has a very smooth ride and the gear changes are very quick. Window down sound is great even with the standard exhaust. Did a heavy brake on the freeway (no cars following) works better than 570S brakes. Didn’t detect any noticeable body roll in the few curves that I took at speed in Sport mode and the ride was smoother than the 600LT that I drove around the same roads. Think that the Artura is a good refinement step up from the 570S.
My butt sensor says in Sport mode from 30 mph, auto gear changes, similar to 600LT but slightly less than 720S. The Artura felt smoother during acceleration than the other cars. The Artura battery charge was low at 6%. Too much checking out the EV mode and not enough recovery time on a charger or ICE motor I suspect. There should be others on the forum with more information as there were test drives scheduled for today.More importantly, what about the acceleration? How does it compare to the 600LT or 720S?
I meant the European ones 🔥.I think they ARE the press cars, shipped from Texas.
oh, well, I meant the dealer day drives across NA now.I meant the European ones 🔥.
Have to say I'm looking forward to driving one around Silverstone next month.
The question still stands, are these customer-ready cars?oh, well, I meant the dealer day drives across NA now.
Dealer wasn’t specific. Said there would be at least one more software update before customer cars are released, and the dealer’s own demo units would be arriving soon. Not clear if these were pre-production units or not. I didn’t notice any issues in 20 minutes for whatever that is worth. There were a few dozen drives yesterday, and nobody burst into flames or needed a towThe question still stands, are these customer-ready cars?
😱😨😰 You will use the 670 hp Artura supercar primarily as a 90 hp electric car? 😨😰😱Love the e-mode, I plan to use that most of the time.
