That's great to hear! Glad good rubber is finally a default. What is the stock Pirelli and what are you comparing to? PZeros to PS4S?

Yes for ESC, but the discussion with Dan was about menu selecting a stem TPMS sensor input. That's always been the case. ESC is calibrated with the specific OEM tires and you have to make sure the proper one is selected in the tire menu.
A conversation from a few years ago; non oem tires are fine for anything that could be related to warranty but wheel size (away from OEM) is the one that can be used to deny warranty related items.
Yes, $2200 wasted. Damn. That's great to hear! Glad good rubber is finally a default. What is the stock Pirelli and what are you comparing to? PZeros to PS4S?
Yeah, I have found the same thing, I actually lost traction with my old 12C with Michelin PSC2's. Michelins don't seem to grip on the street as well as the Pirellis. My go-to tire has always been the R888R, but I may want to try the Nitto NT01's out back for quietness. I just don't know how it's going to be possible with the Artura. I hope there's a way to toggle to regular TPMS sensors.Yes, $2200 wasted. Damn.
i use the ps4s, and they absolutely destroyed the pzeros that came with the car, but I have heard pirelli reformulated the pzeros. I would imagine the psc2 might be a bit finicky if cold.Yeah, I have found the same thing, I actually lost traction with my old 12C with Michelin PSC2's. Demo or customer car? I read that the first customer car was received by the London dealer today.
The Houston location makes sense because dealers are driving demo cars at Texas Motor Speedway next week.demo car I believe. Needs some calibration and will be ready for test drives next week
You have an Artura already! 😀I’m not sure of all the talk with the Mclarens only recognize Pirelli tires for the TPMS. Mine is reading the Michelins just fine.
I'm thinking it won't be long before they all have the integrated sensors. You have an Artura already! 😀
Depends upon what you mean by ‘integrated’ sensors - For Pirelli cyber tire the sensor is literally inside of the tire material layers (and not removable). Other manufacturers also use integrated circuit chips but they are inserted into cups on the inner tire surface and are removable and can work with other tires. Trucking fleets are adopting the chip sensors (removable type) and as usage volume goes up the price/costs should go down and then as you suggest will be adopted by more car manufacturers.I'm thinking it won't be long before they all have the integrated sensors.
there is a reason companies work with Pirelli. it is a lot easier and cheaper to develop a custom tyre with Pirelli than with Michelin. and if you put tyres developed for a 488 or porsche on a mclaren your mileage might vary. especially if you are doing it with tyres from a front engined car to a rear engined one..So far the stock pirellis are significantly better than the new Michelins I just had installed on the 765. I’m spinning like crazy.
So the suggestion by all is that the Artura will run a different TPMS all other Mclarens? I need to go back and read I guess! You have an Artura already! 😀
Yes, with the sensor integrated with the tyre.So the suggestion by all is that the Artura will run a different TPMS all other Mclarens? I need to go back and read I guess!
This gives the idea —-So the suggestion by all is that the Artura will run a different TPMS all other Mclarens? I need to go back and read I guess!
This article drops some tantalizing hints about what the current tyre selection in the menu system might do. I'd assumed that it might already affect some of the dynamic traction mappings, but I don't know for sure. This suggests that in future it may not be necessary to select the tyre type manually, the car will already know which ESC mapping is appropriate based on the info it gets directly from the tyre sensor. This gives the idea —-
