Because people keep buying that shit! 🤔
shit?? Having owned 3 McLaren's in last 5 years and now back to Porsche I think I have a balanced perspective. As a pure drivers car McLaren is hard to beat. So connected and visceral and my 600LT Spider was next level. You just have to be willing to put up with the less than stellar build quality and assorted issues. Mine ranged from multiple electrical gremlins, to a failed transmission, two failed a/c compressors, misaligned and warped body components, and of course a cracked windshield on my LT. They have improved for sure but through it all I still loved the brand. I was just ready for a change and wanted another manual trans so back to Porsche. Just took delivery of my new 2022 Targa 4 GTS and love it! Build quality is 10/10 and it just does everything at such a high level. Manual gear box is one of the best in business, speed, handling, comfort, it's all there and just an absolute joy to drive. I may come back to McLaren at some point but for now I couldn't be happier. Cheers.

A few dealers currently have non-drivable sample Arturas in their showrooms. I saw one today. The aesthetic exceeded my expectations. In fact, upon seeing the car, I promptly placed my order. According to my dealer, tester cars will be available to drive during August, with initial deliveries during approximately September. Dealer says this timeline is supposedly firm and more reliable then prior forecasts. We shall see. Meanwhile, this is my configuration:

a nondriveable sample exceeded your expectations? ;) well at least you have lowered your expectations...
i think that sounds about right when it comes to timing. the new management has spent a lot of time fixing issues over the last 6 months

I agree, it looks much better in the flesh than in pictures. After seeing one I had the same reaction, I went from not interested to, ok might be a good replacement for my 570.

Has anyone had a chance to sit in one? I really liked my 600 LT, but ultimately traded to a 720 spider because the interior of the 600 felt very small and cramped to me.
Felt pretty similar as I recall to a 720s but haven’t tried a 600LT.

I do find spiders feel more spacious due to clear roof making if feel more open even if it isn’t

Aren't they all essentially the same size because of the tub? The only difference I've noticed in the way the interior feels is because of the seat configuration.

I sat in the demo. There is plenty of room. I am 6 feet and there was ample space above my head.
I sat in the demo Artura at my dealer. Im 6'4" and had no issues. Really liked how it wrapped around my body. Very comfortable and good looking car.

Yes. Roof aperture is wider on 720. The roof line frame near windshield is closer to your head in 570 and still in Artura.
Loved the new seats and interior. Definitely stepped up from past models.

If the performance of the Artura is there I’m going to do a fun spec and pick one up. I want to drive it first.
I sat in a new (apparently road ready car) at the factory recently. The new seats are very comfortable and the interior is an upgrade as well. In person the car looks and ‘feels’ very nice. I was impressed with it. The performance is supposed to be 720 esque under triple digits...and possibly quicker to 60mph with the hybrid LC and torque fill. I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

@aorta When you visited MTC did they give you any indication when press drives or customer drives of the Artura will be?

This is very integrating information. It is also intriguing, could you please elaborate a bit more.

The dates are for my build, from the McLaren factory system that dealers can access. The system shows the VIN, which in this case had been changed to reflect a model year 2023
Tire Rack has MC-C chip connected tires for Artura listed as Back Order on their website now
