whatever happened to that global media test drive in October?

McLaren Philly sent me an email that they should have one for me to drive in the second week of November. I will believe it when I see it.

Drove one last week with McLaren Philly. Pretty impressed but I don' think I am going to buy. McLaren corporate was there and it didn't really feel like they had a good timeline for when people will start to receive them. I was told that a whole bunch are in port but I don't know if they are actually ready. According to the rep, the software in the demo car was not fully featured yet and was not the software that was going to appear on the production models. The demo cars were all loaners from McLaren.

Would you rather have software different in the demo being older and incomplete compared to what you get, or have different software different in the demo making the car perform better than the ones customers get? cough Ferrari cough

I would expect them to have a complete production software version ready for prospective customer drives. I don't mind being a guinea pig and typically do so when I am getting paid, not the other way around.
