Have fun!!!!!!
rear crash structure to engine subframe. If it was done in a jig it should be okay but the ends do seem a bit sloppy.
VEGA BLUEWhat color is your Artura?
I’ve never welded but I went to a low production bicycle manufacturer that welding was part of the art of steel bike production. That is nothing close. As a welder myself, those welds are rough… I wouldn’t put anything out that looked like that.
Very interesting. I know nothing about welding, so was refraining from comment even though it looks bloody awful to my eye. Is it perhaps anything to do with it being aluminium? As a welder myself, those welds are rough… I wouldn’t put anything out that looked like that.
Much more likely that it relates to metal-workmanship which is ostensibly out of sight!!! 🤷🏼♂️Very interesting. I know nothing about welding, so was refraining from comment even though it looks bloody awful to my eye. Is it perhaps anything to do with it being aluminium?
Nah, Aluminum is commonly (and easily) welded. Titanium is much harder, but plenty of people (bike industry) do absolutely beautiful welds.Very interesting. Ok, so not aesthetically pleasing, but still structurally sound?Nah, Aluminum is commonly (and easily) welded. Titanium is much harder, but plenty of people (bike industry) do absolutely beautiful welds.
100% they didn't care to make it pretty since you're probably NOT supposed to be looking at it (typically, lol). Let's just say these welds are utilitarian in nature XD
It looks like I welded that 🤦♂️
Clutch failure was the underlying problem?Just got an update on my car from the dealer. Gas motor is ok thankfully, clutch was destroyed they found out as well. I thought the clutch on my E-Gear Gallardo was bad that it only lasted 10,000 miles. But after only 600 miles the Artura takes the cake 😂.
No idea! But somehow the electric motor and clutch failed according to what I was told so far. Do not know if it was just random that both failed simultaneously, or if one caused the other to fail.Clutch failure was the underlying problem?
Yeah, if the motor locked up, I guess that might be a bit of an issue for the clutch..... lol. Presumably the clutch design is pretty similar to the old transmission. No idea! But somehow the electric motor and clutch failed according to what I was told so far. Do not know if it was just random that both failed simultaneously, or if one caused the other to fail.
I am such an idiot. I just realized this is why it felt so flipping weird when I backed up on my two test drives. All-electric. //facepalm//Yeah, if the motor locked up, I guess that might be a bit of an issue for the clutch..... lol. Presumably the clutch design is pretty similar to the old transmission.
BTW, be super careful while you're getting used to reversing in electric mode! I saw a guy at C&C a few weeks ago reverse his NSX S carbon diffuser right into the kerb.....![]()
