Does anybody know whether McLaren OEM wheels are definitively powdercoated at the factory, or are they wet painted?

I tried to polish a scratch off the satin finish - bad idea. This should tell you what you need to know - it looks to be painted black with a top coat of satin effect.

Generally motorsport wheels are not powder coated as that could potentially hide a crack in the aluminium beneath. Paint will crack with the material.

I went thru the grief of obtaining the weights for all of the OE wheels that were an option for my 650... And ALL of them are specifically listed as "painted"...
