you have a 458 on order....you are obviously late to the party there....what realistic discount are you getting on that....as you will most certainly take a hit on that car as well....I dont like taking a hit on any car I pick up and yet it's part of the game, illness we have....
I am getting no discount, but I am also getting by being patient, a car with race seats (hard to find pre-owned), cruise control (very hard to find), CFRP (some cars have 1/2 interior carbon), and an MSRP way below the current prices being asked for 2012's with less options, and or options that I do not want, nor do I want to pay for. Avg. asking market for 2012's is over 300k, some at 319 with Daytona seats. My MSRP is 283k. I can't even buy a pre-owned 2011 equipped similarly to my spec with 2k miles for less than 289k.
I am planning to trade for a 458 Scud, or hopefully get my deposit moved to the Scud version, but it has still not been formally announced.
As for being late, I have never been one to buy a brand new released model. Based on history, I would like to see the bugs get worked out first, and then buy in the 2nd or 3rd model year.
It is refreshing to see on this Forum the lack of problems with the MP4. All I have seen so far is: Blown off intake hose (easy fix), and complaints about the knock noises the chassis makes going over speed bumps sometimes. One owner had to do a reset after a drag run, but most modern day cars with the amount of computers involved all face this issue.
