in the next days, will be published the new issue of Sportauto in France

another Head to Head test between the mp4 and the 458.

The track is Lemans Bugatti.

it would seem that the mp4 is the fastest, but the problem is with the Ferrari.

Several days before, ferrari took part in a private trackday on the Bugatti (don't know why they didnt rent the circuit at their own account, perhaps because of the lack of time) with a full technician team, professional driver. Au menu : differents setup, Ecu mapping, tires, pressure etc...

All of that to be sure to have the perfect weapon to achieve the perfect lap during the test.

It was clear for the team of the magazine that the car was very hmm "special", tyres was very soft for one of numerous examples.

dyno (during their "supertest they take each cars on dynos) for the mp4 would be around 595 bhp

a bit more for the fezza !!!

ok sorry i was busy and off line all day long

for the source of the private test before the press test :
- several posts in a well known french forum, from the guy who was in the trackday with his ariel atom. Not a friend of Ferrari but neither maclaren.
I can't translate the exact language because it is a bit rude
"There was brand new one red motorhome, a brand new 458 with modena plate, a complete team of mechs, as soon as the car arrived at the box, they pulled away the wheels, plugged a computer etc... Pilot had a scuderia helmet with the black horse and on the track he was very fast (not the exacts word, but don't know the word for destroyed everyone on the track :))" etc... etc...
he spoke also of one of his friend telling he had been punished with his GT3 modded (short gear ratio, slicks etc...)

It is not the kind of person which is used to speaking well on ferrari, especially when a 458 is faster than him...

he went to the box to discuss with the team but the only answer was ""it's a test to be sure the car is perfect"

for the rest of the story, i will met the guy next week, and with the release of the press article, it will be easier to complete the true story

but 6th element, if sportauto want to continue to have some add on their pages from Ferrari, and good relationship... (they have all the official network) it will be difficult to know the truth

i will try to cross the informations

So, how do you know the results from the dyno and that the magazine team noticed soft tires, etc.? Are the magazine editors posting this information on that forum?

at the moment impossible to tell more until the release of the magazine (next week) after that i will be able to relate all the story.

thy guy on the track was also convinced the car doesnt wear "stock" tyres but didnt recognize the exact type. (i am waiting details from him)

appreciate you posting, but unless the publication has the balls to say what they know, it will all be hearsay and the charade continues.
