R FOR "RADICAL"

It is the highly anticipated version that will complete the A110 range. An extreme version. Lighter. Sharper. And even more inspired by motor racing. In a word, more "radical" to top the A110 range. The ultimate expression of lightness and performance, the new Alpine A110 R is designed for unique feelings on the racetrack while remaining road legal.

Strange how this car, who is by essence a « rally » car, is now specs to become a track car.
I think Alpine lost the plot following journalists and YouTuber criticisms, comparing it with Porsche and trying it only on track.
This car got rave reviews when tested on road, and as the owner of one, a first edition, I can attest that the subsequent ones didn’t offer another level of driver’s commitment despite the sharp increase price.
Hope this one will do better considering the price tag.
have you heard of the hp output?

The A110 is really a great little sports car, I drove an A110 S a few months ago and since then all the cars I take are as lazy as trucks.

I have some concerns about the price but I think this radical version will be really great and a sports car under 1100kg is as rare as the Tasmanian tiger today.

Looks like this could be very good, although probably more Lotus than McLaren. My first job was working for Renault Research, so I'd like to see this be really good.

ALL-NEW A110 R: R FOR RADICAL!
Car Vehicle Tire Wheel Hood

This much-awaited latest version rounds out the A110 range. Extreme, light, more streamlined, and more inspired by motor sports than ever – ‘radical’ is the only way of describing the car that now sits as the crowning jewel of the A110 line-up. The ultimate expression of lightness and performance, the Alpine A110 R was designed to be sensational on the racetrack yet still certified for the open road.
Wheel Tire Car Land vehicle Vehicle

The first main difference with the A110 R is seen through the extensive work put in to reducing its overall weight down to as little as 1,082kg – 34kg less than the A110 S. Its aerodynamic performance has been enhanced for greater downforce and reduced drag. For the first time ever on the A110 range, some parts (e.g. the bonnet, rear window, and diffuser) have been redesigned specifically for the new model. The exclusive improvements made to the chassis, along with the 1.8L 300HP motor, and race-car interior, feed into the heightened radical feel that make the driving experience more intense than ever before.

Taking just 3.9 seconds to go from 0-100km/h, the All-new Alpine A110 R pushes the boundaries of sports cars. Building off the brand’s commitment to motor sports, the design phase involved direct input from top-level experts and is more than ready to beat the clock when it takes to the racetrack. Made in France at the Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé, this latest car marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand’s expertise in motor sports.

Alpine A110 R Fernando Alonso Edition Is A Limited Run Special Celebrating F1 Driver’s Wins
“The new Alpine A110 R Fernando Alonso is a slightly sportier and ultra-exclusive take on the hardcore version of the brand’s two-seat sportscar that the two-time Formula 1 champion himself has approved.
A few subtle exterior and interior changes have been made to mark the 32 Fernando Alonso editions apart from the rest of the herd, while a new patented height-adjustable suspension set-up is unique to the limited-run car and features input by Alonso himself.

Shame they let him go.

will see what the Ocon’s version will be, one day I guess, 🤷‍♂️
We already know, nothing to do with Ocon. They only wanted to offer a 1 year deal because they wanted Gasly the following year or because of age. Alonso being Alonso, thought he was worth more than that and wanted a longer term deal.

That looks pretty good. Do they have any long term plans to sell in the US??
Nope, but maybe in the future theirs electric cars, Alpine is going full electric starting from next model, would be sold in the US.
But I’m guessing you won’t give two sh*ts, then?
Or maybe they will retain their adn and got an SUV lighter than McLaren, with similar power train? Who knows, the electric games will change a lot of thing for plenty of manufacturers, never been as easy to get a 2 000 hps power train!

Yep, you're right, I couldn't give two shits about an electric sports car. Hybrid interests me, but the only interest I might have in full electric is as a daily.

Because in Europe, we are sucker for lap time and talk about car’s emotions all the time 😉. Lap time matter.
I'm from Europe, and I don't give a crap about lap time! 😂
There's a lot to like about the Alpine, not least of which is the weight. Looks-wise, it's a tad too derivative for my liking, it looks like a 911/Cayman copy with a French twist, especially from the rear.

What really is the point of the carousel? Why don't they make it smooth?
Because it's legendary and one of the highlights of the Nordschleife. Making it smooth would just take away from the experience.

There are two - the main one and the smaller one near the end of the lap (seen in the beginning of the clip above).

Everyone who likes driving should try to get to the Nürburgring at least once in their life.
