We have all received a good deal of attention while driving our 12C's. It turns out that the "boring", "uninspired" car is all but that... People hanging out of cars and fumbling for their phones that take a photo, or looking at you as if you're from another planet as the dihedral door opens. It's quite entertaining to hear everyone's experiences.
Here's an amusing one that happened this morning:
As i walked to my car from the store, there was a 50ish year old lady looking into my car's engine bay. When I approach, she remarks; "that's an awesome stereo". "That's the engine", I said. With a puzzled face, she replies, "so what's in the front".
Made me giggle.

6 Lambos, 7 Bentleys, 2 Astons and 1 Ferrari and NEVER got the attention like i get in this car.Starting to scare me the lenghts they are going to, to see the car.

In my City i have seen all:
making photos, films, hands up, sign for "what a car" and so on!
Yesterday ( driving downtown) some kids are running on the street,
arms up to stop me! opening my window and they are
asking me: oh thats the new McLaren, please let us make some photos!!
That was the first time I must stop the car without any policemen!!
And that all with such a "boring" (lol) car!!!!!!!

Best reaction I've seen was when taking photos of one of the first customer cars in the UK last year. Some kids came up and didn't have a clue what it was. They were saying to each other about how sick it was and brap brap and stuff like that. We were pissing ourselves laughing!

Well she wasn't 100% wrong was she? It is music to the ears to hear that engine roar!!!

at the last charity event, the ticket price for the mp4 was far away more expansive than a 458... the mcl was clearly the attraction of the day...

Ric said it was VO,thats why he went for VR!!!!!!
Depends what you want the car for,i prefer the bright colours so other road users can see me coming (unfortunatly Plod too),stealth is great for the cities but on the open road you really dont want to be missed

I don't think ANY color will accomplish THAT! So far.. all I have attracted is 12 - 72 Boys/Men!

I drove behind a yellow F458 today for a significant portion of time just me and her going up the hill. Sounded great, but really, the looks are completely mehh. I'm far more curious to see a MP4-12C on the road than a F458.

I am constantly amazed at how knowledgeable the American public is about this car. I presumed that McLaren (in the USA) would be a sort of 'secret society', but not so - people of all shapes and sizes come up and talk to me about brake steer, interactive hydraulic suspension etc. Gearheads the world over are on to this car, which is great. I think a lot of the US recognition comes from Top Gear - BBC America shows it over here and so many people tell me "Oh I saw the episode where Captain Slowdrove one the same color" etc
For such a boring and soul-less vehicle it's got a fantastic following!
