I should also mention that our local dealer said a cat back exhaust will not affect our warranty!

I have been researching exhausts. Novitec has a pretty incredible system, but is is crazy $$$$.

Do you have a thread where we can hear this? Are you happy with it versus changing to aftermarket exhuast?

Sounds great @RyFips. It doesnt sound like a quiet GT any longer. I heard some pops on the downshift. Is there a lot of that or just minimum.

 

The pops and bangs are very minimal, we would prefer more but you would need a tune in this scenario. We did not want to add a tune as warranty would be void for too many items

 

That’s with stock sport exhaust??? Sounds a good amount louder. Is there any drone at cruising speed? Any horsepower gains without a tune?

 

VelocityAP exhaust upgrade. No drone. No clue about power gains as we did not dyno before and after

 

I’m curious if you have any thoughts on these down pipes helping the GT on the track? I’ve read that the cats overheating is a big issue.

 

Our high flow cats utilize HJS cores which are the best of the best when it comes to aftermarket catalytic converters. They are designed to handle the use and abuse track driving delivers. They also will NOT throw a CEL.

Fabspeed McLaren GT / GTS Sport Cats (2020+)

 

Our factory cats disintegrated and sounded like a tin can full of marbles. We have not tracked the GT so can’t answer that question for you. VelocityAP uses very high quality/flow cats that are much more superior to the factory cats. I hope that helps you out.
