I could be wrong but from what I see the ppl buying 296gtb and sf90 right now need way more buying history than ppl buying an Artura 750s or even 765LT … not even to say that most mclaren Hypercars were quiet easy to get if you had the money and don’t need long time to decide … p1v2 might change that a bit maybe
Anyone could have walked in and bought a 296 or SF90. They might get them later than people with more of a buying history but they will get one. The Purosangue was more difficult to get than either of the hybrids.

They should have done this way earlier. Still not too late. I really hope it's not a limited run and is available for anyone to buy.

Does anybody know about the availability?
allegedly it will go on officially sale in September after an April announce. And sources claim it's "sold out through 2024". In the original article and here:

however my reading of the tea leaves is that probably means more the dealership allocations from Woking, not necessarily how the dealers assign allocations to customers. ymmv

Dealer principals will see it in April afaik, training for sales and services will also start around that time … so basically means end of April or May for the announcement bc they will have leaks otherwise with so many ppl taking part anyway … does not make sense to hide it for longer
any guess on deliveries? q4?

dunno but I guess pre release spec ones - kind of similar to the 720s launch edition should be there 2 months later earliest … probably later … think for an owl full spec it’s more like early q4

I’m kind of in a dilemma. If history is to repeat itself, I’m a current 720s owner which is akin to a 12C owner. If you’re going to upgrade, will you upgrade to a 650S(750S) or a 675LT(765LT) or just wait for McLaren hybrid to come?

You should totally go for the 750S. It'll be a better road car than the 765LT, but only slightly slower and hopefully looks better than the 720S too. And then few years later when the hybrid successor finally comes out, trade the 750S in for the hybrid.

I think the 750S is going to be McLaren last ICE only car. So in my opinion, everyone should get one.

I think they are two completely different stories. The 750S is a stopgap because the effective successor has suffered massive delays. Now McLaren is in a dilemma as to how to position the car between two models, (720S / 765LT) which are both called GOAT.

The 650S was brought in to save the butt of the 12C, whose sales expectations were far from met due to a completely botched market launch.

My answer is clear: stay with the "original" stay with the 720S. I don't want a hermaphrodite that is sold to me as the "best of both worlds", a shitty marketing story in my eyes. Unless you love Apple CarPlay more than anything... ;)

I put an allocation deposit on the 750s.
My dealer said in order to get an allocation, you had to purchase a "brand new" Mclaren prior. Not even a used one will they let you qualify for an allocation... Isnt that disappointing. :(

The premium on this "limited production car" are going to be through the roof when people decide to flip them, leaving the ones that genuinely want the car out of luck. :(

100% the case, I know of first time buyers who got the 296 without a problem. Two of them are my business partners in different businesses. For the SF90 it was just as easy but in each case they got the later allocations and there are still a couple of guys waiting on their cars.

Is it really limited? Hopefully not. I don't understand. I think they've sold about 2000 units this year, right? So if they're not selling enough cars, how could the 750S be sold out through 2024?

U.K. Based

As of this past week I have a November (this year) allocation on the 750s, next step is to sign an nda to see visuals and spec the car. If for any reason I don’t like the car the deposit is fully refundable. I am a current 720s spider owner and I bought a dealer spec car so was technically not the first owner. I am local to the dealer and have used them for everything- service, CR upgrades and warranty work and extended warranty as it’s almost 3 years old. Maybe that has all helped to be a preferred allocation for this year holder from this dealer?

They aren’t only selling 750S. They’re trying to unfuck the artura and have something on the order of 2000 of those to build. And they probably have to reserve some capacity for an ultimate series car at some point. Then post 2024, they’ll need to sell a hybrid 720 replacement, an artura spider, some kind of artura LT thing. maybe some of those don’t happen until 2025 or 2026. But they still create problems for imagining the 750 will be produced more than a few years.

Eyeball mathstimate: if they build about half their current production as 750S, that’s less than 1500 cars per year world wide. Starting end of 2023 MY to 2024 MY, is about one year. Into 2025 is 2 years. 3000 cars between > 100 dealerships. So only the top 30ish customers per dealer. Not limited but still hard to get. Maybe 1/3 or so more than 765 allocations. Pretty close to that bad, unless they decide to double the length of the production run or something
