Hey Guys... with all this Covid stuff and supply/manufacturing delays etc... i have to imagine the LT may be slightly delayed which could push out the 720 replacement as we still need to see the LT spider...

I am definitely skipping the LT because the thought of a 720 replacement being hybrid is going to be mad performance numbers... cant wait for the new tech!

Anyway, i need to eventually extend my warranty on my 2018 (end of this year i think) so probably going to extend for 2 years depending on the release of the 720 replacement....

are we thinking the 720 replacement deliveries will be in 2023? I am thinking it could even be closer to end of 2023 which would have me keep the 720s for another 3 years...! thats a record for me

Thoughts on: 1- extending warranty and 2- the delivery year for 720 replacement?

The MY18 720 was released about 2 years after the 675LT Spider. Even if the 765LT Spider is released as a MY22 (probably later in the current situation), the 720 replacement at the earliest will be an MY23 and possibly 24 particularly if the pandemic lasts more than 6 months.

I'm ambivalent about hybrid. Great for short term low end boost but unless it has decent battery capacity it becomes a short term power supplement and once the battery is spent its just extra weight to carry around. Solid state batteries may solve this but not sure if that soon and even if they are then $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. And that is even before we think about the crazy cost of battery replacement after a few years which could compound depreciation even more.

Probably late 2021 or early 2022 announcement.

Sports series hybrid needs to come out first too. I expect sport series announcement either late this year or early next year.
no way. timing too tight. you have about a 2 year lag when LT spider comes out.

Next sport series isn't going to be hybrid too, v6TT+electric? Rummors about 680S for sport series and 800S for 720s replacement.
Maybe the 680S can be that good to be an alternative? And that's going to be available more or less Q3/4 2021.

I am in the market for 720s and 765lt, the dealers are crazy imo trying to sell at list price the 765lt or with a very small discount (yeah... limited version LOL) and the 720s on the market are either fast-selling (good price, nice color, good options) or not interesting to me at all. I am looking for p1 seats, in EU there are just a few for sale.

I actually think they may have to try to stay with the SF90 on power numbers. This would mean a big jump in power. Probably not until 2023 for the 720 replacement
its weight dependent - Flewitt once said they can make a hybrid system at about 100-120kg ... that would put a hybrid version of the 720s at around 1540kg kerb and maybe below 1500 if they can make it lighter in the meantime since that statement.

Such car could easily have 780hp ICE plus 120-150hp hybrid bringing it into the 900-950hp range with 300kg less than a SF90 ... that should be plenty to deal with the SF90 dynamic wise and probably also enough to have at least similar acceleration numbers.

I think that might be the way to go. A bigger difference between the sport and the super series would be good.
I don’t think people should be cross shopping them.
well next sport series is rumored to have 680-700hp base from a V6TT hybrid ... if you think the usual progression its safe to say that the performance model will have 730-750hp ... so basically the Super Series must have 850 plus (better 900) to be significantly different.

My guess is we will see:

Sport Series V2 680hp V6TT Hybrid - introduction late 2020 available q2 2021 usual variants (Coupe, Spider, LT) each 1,5-2 years apart
- later also same hybrid engine for GT in 2022 and a new GT V2 (around 2023-24)

Super Series V3 850-950hp V8TT Hybrid - introduction late 2022 available q2 2023 usual variants (Coupe, Spider, LT) each 1,5-2 years apart

Future Ultimate series:
V8TT no hybrids (850-950hp) - no idea what they could still make as the only thing that is basically missing is a Spider but that would better fit below or a much more powerful Senna V2
V8TT hybrid (1200hp+) - P1v2 (2024-25) and Ultimate Spider P1v2 open top (2025-26)

A V6TT ICE would weigh less than a V8TT. So a later introduction of the Super Series V2 might allow time for an improved battery weight technology to be utilized. eg Switzerlands Innolith Battery Breakthrough - News about Energy Storage, Batteries, Climate Change and the Environment
yes true but a V6TT with 3.0-3.2 liters will also only have 550-650hp while a V8TT (4.0-4.2l) can have 800plus hp today - Elva and Senna engines are probably too costly in production to introduce in Super Series so I guess they won't make sth way above 765LT lvl which should not be too difficult with the M840T, as it has already 765hp in LT trim now and could with added hybrid for the base torque generation become a 800hp+ ICE without requiring more costly modifications like on higher output variants for ultimate series cars ...

Not sure any V8 TT will pass the Euro emissions that are coming in 2023 so they will have to be hybrid.
The V6 TT can probably go without however I suspect these will also have a hybrid component.
I will be surprised if the existing cars are not the last of the ICE only models.

well you can always have a city mode (pure electric) where the car basically becomes an EV with maybe 30-50km range ... thats how the Sf90 is doing it afaik

Wasn't the 720 a 2017 car? A 2022 reveal and a late 2022 launch would be a 5 year lifespan for the 720. That would be fine, no?

I assume the 765LT Spider reveal will be in Sept/October of this year.
i think many are too fixed on that 5y lifespan with McLaren from the MP4/650s which had some specific market competition driven reasons ... basically MP4/650s is the same car with a big facelift ... Mclaren here had to do sth. Bc the 650s started to look old against the 488 and newer Huracan versions... this won’t be the case for the 720s/765LT vs F8/PISTA and no idea what Lamborghini even plans for V10 and V12 replacements ... if they can go to 6y lifespan it’s saving them a lot of money vs 5 years .... R&D and production line/ tools cost is 1/6 lower per unit for 6y vs 5y if they can keep sales numbers up, which is big ...

I assume sales after 5 years are just not good anymore.

still need to come out with LT and then LT spider followed by a 1-2 year lag after spider variant before we see deliveries of the 720 replacement.... that cant be sooner than 3 years now

also does not make sense to even announce a more powerful replacement before the LT Spider production run is over ... they Never did that ... not with 675LT - 720s not with the 600LT (620R) - 680s (or how they will call it) ... even if they announce the 680s already in End of q3 2020 they won’t start deliveries before Q2 2021 ... so it’s at least 18 months lag between it and the end of 600LT Spider production ... even if it would only 12 months for the 720s replacement it’s not before q2 2023 ...
