I have a 2019 720s with 950 miles on the odo. Tried to go for a drive today but to no avail as it did not turn on. There is no key issue and I’m stomping on the break. I can hear the ignition but it does not start. There is no battery issue as all Internal lights and screen work and the battery life displayed shows plenty of charge. I just hear the ignition but does not crank over. Drove the car yesterday without any issues. There is a contact Mclaren message displayed so it’s throwing a fault code. I don’t have a code scanner so cant get the exact code. Anyone experience a similar issue and have any tips? I have a appt on Monday morning at mclaren dealership but if it doesn’t turn on I can’t take it there.

Not sure but anything is possible. Since the car has so few miles I can’t imagine damper spring failure. I tried again this morning and same issue can hear the starter going and going but engine not turning on. I don’t want to damage any further by repeated tries. It’s under warranty so will call mclaren sf tomorrow. Parking brakes are engaged however so not sure how they can tow as I was not able to disengage without the engine turning on.

With so few miles you can't discount anything because NOTHING should be going wrong. When it's done so much sitting, anything is possible. It may just need a software update it probably hasn't gotten in the 300 miles a year it's driven.

Yes there are other possible causes. There was a thread on parking brake release — haven’t done it myself

Definitely not a starter problem. It's acting like there is an immobilizer or crank position sensor problem.

It has fuel in the tank but might not to the fuel rail. Fuel pumps don't like to sit, they go bad. If it's not a crank position sensor, fuel pump is my next guess, followed by rodent damage.

Fuel pump failure like I mentioned earlier. GOTTA drive the car or things go bad that normally wouldn't.

Mine just had the same problem 2 weeks ago. 2019 as well. Drive it all day without issue on Saturday and then Sunday morning would crank but not start. It actes like it was out of fuel or didn't have spark.

Dealer has identified the cause as a grommet/seal issue not allowing fuel to be picked up within the tank.

It appears there are multiple 720s’s with the same issue right now. Did you see this thread yet? Has pictures as well.
