Hello,
Looking to buy my first McLaren, it's a 2018 720s luxury pack. I plan to pick it up in a couple of days, but it's not from a Mclaren dealer. The car is in Norcal and I want to have it inspected by a Mclaren dealer, I have heard the 720s is a monster but it comes with some possible headaches based on owner reviews. I do not want to have a car like this without a warranty. My question is what extended warranties does Mclaren offer? For those that have experience with this, what is the estimated cost of the warranty and what does it cover/how long is it for? I plan to call my local Mclaren dealer tomorrow (Newport Mclaren) and see what they say.. but wanted to see what some 720s owners have to say as well. Thanks for any input/advice, I really appreciate it.

Cool, good to know, thanks! I assume a Mclaren dealer would inspect it and if its good to go, they'd offer me an extended warranty. Which is why I want a PPI by a Mclaren dealer before I purchase.

Well not sure about non dealership cars. If you have the VIN you could ask your planed service dealer to check if the car had been modified and what the service record is. McLaren will not warranty modded cars.

There's also a waiting period, 90 days of I remember correctly, you have to own it for that long before they'll do a warranty inspection.

Just had the annual service and extended the warranty at the same time. Two year extension to the CPO was $10050 including tax.

This might be situational and dealer-dependent. I had my 600LT for about a month and brought it in to the dealership for the ESC. They didn't give me any hassle about it. It was also McLaren Newport, so hope that's something encouraging. I think I paid 4k for 1 year of ESC. Congrats!!!

I called the local Mclaren dealer and they said as long as it passes their inspection they would warranty it, I can even bring it in this Monday. 1 year would be 7k, 2 years would be 10k.

I was at McLaren Denver 2 weeks ago looking at 720s and they quoted me $6k/year for warranty. Expensive but it seems like that’s the McLaren tax you have to pay for peace of mind.
