LOL, no, but I will say it is a good thing they only had one session with the cars, or they might have found that the 458 POS started to fall apart:You forgot to mention they said "Best engine - 458, best gearbox - 458, best breaks - 458, most fun - 458" and they both just didn't like the 12C. No doubt 6th Element will say they are biased and in Ferrari's pocket
A complete spanking from the Italian car on McLaren's "home" test circuit. Utter humiliation for a car they said was a game changer.
Absolutely damning review. Neither Tiff nor Jason Plato enjoyed driving it at all. Both spun it. Numb, disconnected, gear shift won't change down, unstable under braking, not as exciting yadda yadda.
458 was also .1 quicker round Dunsfold - where the Macca was developed - how utterly humiliating.[/QUOTE
pathetic.......I knew it was too good to be TRUE.........aventador here I come.........Porsche please produce 918 cpe

I forget where, but I read somewhere that the transmission drops into neutral if the drift angle exceeds 45 degrees, perhaps as a safety measure. Maybe that happened?Naive question, but both the 5th Gear presenters and Ben Collins reported having to fight the car. I've been driven around Dunsfold by a McLaren driver at maybe 80% of vmax and it was very different to these reports. I've also driven the same track in a 12c (even slower).
Tiff went off while trying to drift but the car was trying to stop him. Maybe you just need to drive the car differently to a 20th century car?
It's not now about 458. The time does not really matter in comparison with Ferrari, since their times are most likely worthless. The big problem is reviewers either disliking or really disliking the car pretty much unanimously. Sound, I could live without, but numb and disconnected really bother me, especially compared to Italia, which is itself pretty numb and disconnected (compared to say the scud). The big advantage in stiffness and weight should be easily apparent compared to any car and especially Italia (even the ringer). This is a major fail. I have to finalize my specs by 10th and I am starting to have major doubts if I should go ahead. I will probably delay the order and wait for a test-drive. My trust in McLaren has waned considerably.LOL, no, but I will say it is a good thing they only had one session with the cars, or they might have found that the 458 POS started to fall apart:

You can gloat all you want on this McLaren enthusiast site, my friend. Not in a million years will you convince me that your beloved 458 deserves the praises that you seem to so dearly yearn for to justify your purchase decision.![]()
Eloquent as ever. Fall apart eh...... Well I've done around 4500 miles without any failures, squeaks, rattles..... or fluid leaksLOL, no, but I will say it is a good thing they only had one session with the cars, or they might have found that the 458 POS started to fall apart:

Agreed that Ferrari times are worthless. Only provided the link to show the gloater that regardless of what these mags and tv shows are portraying, if he actually takes his beloved 458 on track for more than a morning, it's likely to pee fluids out of every orifice. It's not now about 458. Sorry to disappoint but I've been on a track a few times and not had any fluid issues. But then again perhaps my car was also a ringerAgreed that Ferrari times are worthless. Regarding the disconnected feel, we never heard of it before this round of tests, so that is why I am waiting to hear the full story. Maybe there is an explanation, maybe there isn't.
You are obviously not getting the message. If I had any inclination to buy your ugly, peeing 458, I'd be hanging out on ferrarichat or peeing458life. However, this is neither of those and I couldn't care less how great you think your shiny red car is.Eloquent as ever. Fall apart eh...... Might be worth waiting until you have managed the same in a 12C before gloating. The test car couldn't manage to survive a few laps without springing a hydraulic leak (allegedly) after all![]()
Oh trust me, I got the message long ago from the childish nature of your posts where you have ridiculed the 458 which has now been proven in 7 independent tests to be the more enjoyable drivers car regardless of lap times. I have never once resorted to your level of silly name calling as witnessed in your post above. You are obviously not getting the message. exactly what i was thinking, had the same experience when i was driven round the track, looks like they turned everything off, rememeber when steve sutcliife was driven round in the F1/12c test, and said you had to be unhinged to turn it off.Naive question, but both the 5th Gear presenters and Ben Collins reported having to fight the car. Well then your only other motive for hanging around here must be to gloat about your Ferrari every time somebody says something nice about it, or likewise put down the 12C. Which makes you even more pathetic.Oh trust me, I got the message long ago from the childish nature of your posts where you have ridiculed the 458 which has now been proven in 7 independent tests to be the more enjoyable drivers car regardless of lap times. I certainly wouldn't want you to change your order, nor was I intending to make you. I hope you are very satisfied with the car.
You just keep sipping on that HATORADE!You are obviously not getting the message. If I had any inclination to buy your ugly, peeing 458, I'd be hanging out on ferrarichat or peeing458life. However, this is neither of those and I couldn't care less how great you think your shiny red car is.
