Watch Thorney Motorsports video. Lots of useful info. I mostly look at 600LT, but common issue for sport series. Some common things I noted down Watch out for cracked hinges, prolonged tickling noise from engine, check radio is working, check AC is working, cracked windshield, and shock.

 

Check the latch on the rear window, make sure it opens and closes a few times.

 

check the rotors and pads if they are ceramic because they can add up, check for any leaks coolant or oil, and check if the windshield wipers work half the time the motor gets stuck and the wipers don't work.

 

Make sure to get a Pre Purchase inspection. Honestly, as someone who works on their own car, it just isnt easy enough to see all the parts that could be an issue without a true inspection. Really easy to hide some long term issues during a sale.

Also check for corrosion on the panels. Super common.

 

I don't think corrosion is "super common" except in places with a poor climate and salted roads. I've yet to see a car with any corrosion on the body.

 

I found a 570GT that might be a good candidate for purchase. Going to see it first hand and test drive later this week. I'm a first time McLaren buyer, so any advice about buying a McLaren in general or the 570GT specifically would be appreciated. I've already requested a PPI from McMedics.

Any critical questions I need to ask? Any important things to note on the test drive?
