With all of the rightful attention that the P1 has been grabbing, our little old P11’s have been put on the back shelf recently.

If memory serves me right, the 2013 model year launch was at the end of this month?

Has anyone got any updates on IRIS or the power upgrade – especially those that have been to the MTC in the past couple of week, or did the P1 numb the mind and you forgot to enquire!!

I asked just the other day in fact. Haven't had a reply yet which strange but p1 numbing everyone's mind I suspect!

Model year 13 starts on Sept 27th according to the MPC production plan but upgrades commence Oct 2012. That's what my wife claims and she knows most things!

I do hope Mclaren don't miss this deadline, the car is great, but residuals are pants and if this Iris and power upgrade are delayed further yet again the reputation of Mclaren will hang in the balance, my faith is waining

If it helps at all, I was speaking to Mclaren Birmingham and London when I was looking around and both have said the update package is scheduled to start in October and will be applied by chassis number.

The upgrade is ready but it will not impact residuals..........there are no buyers out there in sufficient numbers to make a difference. We are doomed, dooooooomed but will have fun driving our worthless Macs.

Latest word from McLaren of NB is that updates would be ready either November or December.

I was at the Paris show today taking a look at what's new. Must say the Lexus concept sports cars, two of them, were the stars for me with the P1.

The rubber button on the MP 12 door works fine but I'm real pleased my car retains the old tech finger swipe............the button is an ugly piece of rubber and so TVR. However the doors close with a gentle touch, amazing and couldn't believe it.

I pulled into a BMW motorcycle dealer yesterday and all the staff came out and were amazed by the car but the finger swipe doors were considered the coolest baddest feature........typical bikers.

+1. I love the swipe, and it's an additional theft deterent. Once mastered, you get it every time. 20 years from now the 2012's will be highly sought after for the swipe feature alone!

I was told yesterday when having my car serviced (wheels re-balanced) that all the US techs would be getting their training on the updates around November 7th, and we'd be getting the upgrades immediately afterwards.
