I'm trying to decide between a 2014 12c spider vs 2015 650s the cars are optioned nearly identical and so is the milage. The dealership wants another 35,000 for the 650s. I'm at a sticking point and don't know if the 650s is worth the differance. Any feedback is appreciated.

Really depends on how much you like the different front end of the 650 and if you feel the look is worth $35k. The other differences are really subtle. Some people prefer the look of the 12C over the 650, others prefer the 650.

I was considering upgrading my 12C to a 650, but then I decided they weren't different enough to justify the cost difference (esp sales tax).

When you are talking about so little price difference for an auto that has dropped in price so much, consider yourself lucky to get either one. do not worry about nickels and dimes, get the color and options you want, that is what makes it yours.
The MP4 will have a history no other McLaren can ever compete against, especially the 2014. The 65os was the first more track focused model. Both are great. hey, want to look at another 2014 Spider, mine is $139,000.00 plus i can offer extended warranty to November 2020 for a discount. seriously, get one of the two you are looking at, and HAVE FUN...

Have you driven both? There is not a significant difference between their performance, so it comes down to whether you like the 650S front end $35k more. Everything else is pretty much the same. You cannot tell the difference from the driver's seat.

That's way too big of a delta for what you're getting in my opinion. Unless like others have said, you're absolutely in love with 650 front end and have to have it.

Personally, I think the front end of the 12c is the more cohesive, classic, and understated design. The front end of the 650 while nice, seems just stuck on and not as cohesive with design of the rest of the car. Dare I say, the front end looks like it's trying too hard? Although the right color helps mute this effect.

The 675lt changed the back just enough to make things work a little better.
