unfortunatly yes, mine was within 2 hours of leaving the factory last wednesday, when they shut the line to rectify the problem, the supplier worked flatout over the weekend to solve the problem on the part.It was deliverd monday and being replaced over the last 2 days.Because of the lead time for not invoicing the car to the dealer untill its signed off and the delivery and pdi,i will now miss another weekend, but its for the best however frustrating.
Geez! I thought there was some catastrophe regarding brake failure, accelerator getting stuck, etc...
Most likely the touch sensors are getting confused by water on them. Hardly a recall problem for McLaren. Maybe a bulletin or phone call to owners.
Interesting that such a seemingly trivial issue didn't manifest (noticeably) during the hundreds of thousands of miles of real-world testing & development!
I wonder how many of these types of electronic sensors etc were actually fitted to the test cars.

Maybe Mark, but i know i will be getting the car ive wanted for 16 years, im not in the F1 price range and as you know the only comparable car for me would be a ferrari, but i didnt like the way i had been treated when i wanted one,at the time its not like i was first in the queue like here, just a mid term car.I still think mac has got it right overall and it will get better.im sure you will like your 458 spyder though, but thats a long wait also
i hope this doesnt mean more delay for our cars:(
It's only a small delay for cars that were about to be dispatched from the MPC.

It appears that McLaren held back a few 'completed' cars (including mine) so that they could fit the new door lock mechanisms and thus eliminate the need for owners to have to return their car to their dealer for post-sale rectification.

From my perspective, much as I want the car as soon as possible I have no issue with the delay as long as my position in the delivery queue is not changed.
