Hi

ok,so I think the battery is dead on my 2012 Mclaren 12c
Battery prices from Mclaren and specialists are circa £2000
Someone told me just a standard lithium battery works in the 12cs. An new £120 battery. He told me that this is not the case with the other models that Mclaren made.
What’s everyone’s thoughts if I need to get a new battery.
Thankyou

Hi
Ok, so I have just left it on trickle charge for ages now.
It always shows the third green light as fully charged. As soon as you turn the vehicle on it goes back to amber.
I haven’t used the reset button, Will that work?

You can "tap" your battery momentarily with a traditional battery charger if it is fully discharged, Just tap it 3 - 4 times in a row for 1 or 2 seconds each tap, then try to charge it normally. This should wake it up.

You may have to repeat this a few times but it has worked for me in the past.

Once you get the Lithium-ion battery to wake up from its deep discharge, you can then use your McLaren specific Lithium-ion battery charger to take it back to a full charge.

Keep us posted!

If all else fails I believe the OEM battery is the same from the AMG GT which retail is about $1k vs McLaren $2k
