  1. Speed Limit Warning Message

    McLaren MP4-12C
On my 720S, their are a couple of visual warnings when you reach 120 kms/hr (approx 75 mph). But the real bothersome warning is the audible “beeping”. I have found no way to turn it off. It’s not so bad on the highway, but can be annoying on the track when during the course of a lap you pass...
  2. Speed Limit Warning Message

    McLaren MP4-12C
I couldn't stop the 120km/hr audible warning (I don't mind the visual lights) on my 650S - now I have a 720S with the same issue - the dealer will not "override" the audible warning (if they even know how to do it) for liability & safety reasons. It's very frustrating - especially on the track...
  3. 650S change from ceramic to iron brakes - do I need to change the calipers?

    McLaren 650S
I've worn out my CC original equipment brakes on the BIC F-1 track and want to change to iron. Apart from the rotors and pads, do the calipers have to be changed? Front and rear? Does anyone have experience with aftermarket pads/rotors - eg Fabspeed?

650S rear carbon ceramic brake wear Ant397 - thanks for your reply - I appreciate what you are saying, but I'm confused as to why only my "inboard" rear axle pads are worn out - not the outboard, in theory the pads are identical on both sides of the caliper and the hydraulic pressure is...
  7. 650s brakes

    McLaren 650S
Jim, I have a 2016 650S with approx. 2,600 miles on it - I do a lot of track days and consider myself (after a lot of track events and formal training around the world with Ferrari, Aston Martin, Corvette and McLaren in both single seaters and sports cars) to be a medium to above average driver...

650S brake pad wear indicator warning Does anyone know how much pad should be left on the 650S rear brake pads when the pad wear warning light comes on? When new these pads are approx 10mm thick - I need to know how much is supposed to be left (eg 20%) when the warning light comes on.
