Soon to be McLaren 570s owner.

Hello fellas; I just sold my Ariel Atom 3s so I am in the market for my first exotic car. I am currently looking at the 2017 570s.
Other cars that I am considering are the Audi R8 V10 plus, Porsche GT3rs, and the Lamborghini Huracan.
The McLaren is the top runner for me right now. Going to McLaren in Charlotte NC next week to test drive a couple of their 2017 examples of the 570s and compare them to the others I am interested in.
Looking forward in learning more about the McLaren on this messageboard.
First thing I am going to do once I take delivery of my 570s is get an exhaust for it. If anyone can offer me advice in that department or any other department .... all would be appreciated!!!

Welcome! The 570S is an incredible platform and always a very rewarding experience! We had an in-house 570S that logged many, many trouble free miles and easily one of my favorites of the fleet.

We have worked closely with the McLaren marquee since the early days of the MP4-12C and have in-house designed, developed and dynoed several great options using premium components (German HJS HD Sport Cats, Kevlar thermal blankets etc.) resulting in more power and sports car sound.

Feel free to give me a shout if you'd like to discuss the ins and outs of the cars and what we offer for them.

Just for the comparo, take out a 12C. First of the super series cars, and easily blows off the others you listed. Handles differently than the 570S, good to experience if one's available.

Welcome, Elonheater! It sounds like I'm in good company; I was making the exact same decision vs the very same vehicles and I also decided to go 570.

An adage from the misspent youth of my skydiving days: "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast..."

What made you finally decide to go with the 570s over the other options?

I cross shopped the same cars you mentioned before buying my 570S a couple of years ago. The R8, which I was really hot on at first, just did not light up my synapses enough. The GT3RS had a big ADM, and while I have tremendous respect for the brand and this model, they are a dime a dozen in my neighborhood (SF Bay Area) and did not have that supercar cache at all, even though it was priced right up there with the McLaren. All that said, if I tracked as much now as I used to, the RS would be my first choice. I loved the exhaust note of the Huracan, but the interior left me cold, and I preferred the looks and handling of the 570S. To me the 570S drives like a Lotus Exige on mega 'roids, which I love - light, active steering, instant response, agile, just feels smaller and lighter than all the competitors. And, frankly, the straight-line thrust is simply shocking. In the end, it wasn't all that close a call for me, for my use case, which is back road twisties and the very occasional track day.
