Lemans question for the Brits

Wife and I will be flying into London the Friday before LeMans which I actually only just put together. (Trip is a company award).

How much of a PITA is it to get to the race from downtown London? We fly in late Friday and I need to be in Malvern by Monday, so it has to be an in and out trip but I've been dying to go. Any help would be awesome!

Any other members going?

Apologies that this is completely ignoring your question @TTMOTION. Just interested to read you are visiting Malvern, where my Sister lives. Are you heading over to Morgan Cars by any chance? If not, (although I suspect you are ) its a fantastic Factory Tour.

Last year we took the chunnel then rented a car, easy. Friends have also flown to Paris then took a train. This year we’ll fly into Paris and rent a car so we can do some sight-seeing afterwards. If you don’t have somewhere to stay, get on it now, hotels book up pretty quickly. First year we went we ended up in a Chateau about one hours drive from the track, which was a PITA.

current stable;
- 2012 McLaren MP4-12C
- 2006 Ford GT
- 2014 Range Rover HSE SC
- 1999 Kubota 480L tractor
- 1965 Mustang GT350R clone
- Rolls Royce Meteor V-12 tank engine!!

Thats a tight window to get down to Lemans, enjoy some racing and get back all in two days.
Two quick routes = fly or sleeper train
Hotels book up well in advance be quick

VR 650S Spider gone but not forgotten after 19k miles
Bloody great bit of kit!
Looking forward to many miles in the 675LTS

I am actually and have a Plus 4 and a 3 Wheeler booked to drive around for the day after the tour. Cannot wait.

Thanks for the tips. It might be a bit much to pull off and still enjoy. Will need to look into it a bit more.

Not so much about how long it takes to get there, but bear in mind that you may not get any food served later in the evening. I fell in that trap 10 years ago. Went to bed hungry because we failed to buy supplies for the self catering youth hostel where we stayed..

Nothing is as it seems!

sounds like best way if you're in the centre of town is take the Eurostar to paris and then from paris direct to le mans.. there's a tram (I think) from the centre of le mans to the circuit so should be easy ..

as others say, book accom quickly and be prepared to be shocked..

will be racing just before the 24h on sat morning.. just sayin'.. ;-)

Way to go Mikeyb! Look forward to following your entry again—it added excitement to the thread last year.
