Thanks to XPRD I have a brand new IRIS 2

I finally found a brand new IRIS 2 for my 12c. XPRD found it for me and even installed it at my house. Best of all the price was only a fraction of what McLaren of San Francisco wanted.

I am so happy that XPRD takes care of my car and fixes anything that needs to be fixed for a very reasonable price.

Sounds like I live in a good area, once I find the right 12C 🙂

Curious on the cost. I've been thinking about upgrading to iris 2.0

Did you upgrade it from a iris 1? I was interested in if that needs to be programmed in to work.

Iris 1 to iris 2 conversions are pricey from the dealer. I was told the conversions were over 12k and the screen alone was around 10k. So, if you have an iris2 and your screen stops responding to touch, then the screen needs replacement. This is for all 12c, 650, 570, 675, P1. I can cut pretty deep into that price if anyone is interested. Please post here if you have quotes and part numbers from dealers around the country. Also, make sure to ask about availability!

PM me with any inquiries.

@mdurbahn
no upgrade, my touch screen stoped responding. Very annoying and pretty much useless at that stage.

If you have the extended warranty they replace the screen for free - ask me how I know. IRIS2, part #: 1 1211M2921CP

Back when I upgraded from the v1 to the v2 in 2013-2014 the out the door price was ~$2,500.00 @ MNB.

I assume that McLaren have done the same as they have with the HVAC screens - make those without ESCs pay through the nose.

Did you know the Iris 2 and navigation system are actually two large pieces thus if both are replaced plus install etc is $8,500.00 I was told a long time ago

There's 2 pieces. The LCD panel (most commonly seen as IRIS2) and then a separate control module.

Usually, on a screen failure on IRIS 1, McLaren ESC was replacing just the screen. Later, the IRIS 1 price was higher than a full IRIS 2 install (parts wise), so they started swapping the entire system.
