I always preferred the swoosh. I was in the minority here, but I still secretly think people preferred the square badge only because it was more rare because you'd get it if you spent 50k mso options.

Yep the old swoosh wasn’t too obvious, but I did like the subtlety.

Had a sun strip on my 12C emblazoned in 9” letters with McLaren and some tyke (British - an unpleasant or coarse man) asked what car it was.

I pointed to the windscreen, which brought about the genuine and unforgettable response

I can’t read!!

Well its beddy-byes for me now, and sweet dreams indeed.

But please can you confirm that it is drop dead gorgeous?

Shame about the badge.

This isn't a recent development. You won't find the McLaren Speedmark logo by itself on any Super Series or Sport Series model after the 12C, unless it was done as special order item.

Good point P25, it's just that I am old school and don't keep up with developments, i.e. the last three years since the 650S devalued my 12C massively.

I wouldn’t call it drop dead gorgeous, better to describe it the thinking mans tart!!

There is just so much going on that it’s not down to instant attraction, but an informed and appreciative eye of what is under the skin .

First 400 will take a while. They want to do everything right this time. I don't think many more than 1,000 will be made this year.

Ok. Here is my summary of points made by salesman who I trust
1.The interior is a massive step up in material specs with fine leather and aluminium switches milled with perfect tactile haptic.
2. The door tops and roof are glass with easy ingress.
3. THE seats are much improved and the cockpit very changed for the better.
4.THE specs are choice of 3 for first cars. Top spec is carbon fest. Middle spec some interior carbon.. Simplistic spec is..... Simple.
5. Cameras in side mirrors for parking.
6.Front end is biggest issue but the thin layer lights drive that. The light see around corners.
7.MSO not available until mid year.
8.complete change on electronic devices and suspension improved big time
9.engine 4 litre with sub 3 sec to 62mph, sub 8 to 125 mph

Today several new deposits based on view learnt from attendees. It's a winner.

Interesting that after the fisheye spy shot was released there seemed to be a bit of a downer on the car and the momentum was gaining in that direction (except to be fair from those that had seen it at the Winter Ball). Now the groundswell seems to have shifted to "game changer" as it's become more available for people to see properly. I'm not criticizing anyone just pointing out how a forum thread can influence opinion.
Whether it's visually appealing or not it's a pretty exciting time and I, for one, can't wait to watch Chris Harris et al and their video reviews of this car.

and you can be sure that both Chris Harris and Jeremy Clarkson will start by saying that they did not need a drift button

It is not a drift button per se. It is a setting to modify how the esc will operate, allowing the car to be following the direction desired, including at an angle. The setting can be stored and recalled, e.g. If you go to the same track under the same weather conditions.

I love to see positive hype around the car. The prevailing negativity regarding McLaren has always mystified me. The LT is by far the finest auto I have ever owned. If the 720 is better still, then bless McLaren and may they sell every one of them that they can build!

It's nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Any idea when they will roll off the production line into the dealers showroom?

I think may/june
The doors open little less wide. It feels like stepping into a convertible with the new doors and roof.
Pretty sure it doesnt go from 0-200 under 7.5s as was mentioned above, but who is counting
Grip level on 720 pzero same as lt trofeo !
