-Carbon paddle shifters offered as a regular option and not just MSO.
-Glovebox (similar to 570S)
-Better speaker system for the Super Series cars (Not yet heard how good they are in the Sports Series cars).
-New engine note. I'm curious to see what people would want the new car to sound like? I kind of like the deeper, throatier, more raw sounding engine notes myself.

Some more data connected USB plugs on the back side of the center stack. Maybe have that rubber shelf back there oriented to hold phones better while still keeping the 2 cup holders (which are great). Maybe increase the size of the cup holders a tad to handle larger water bottles...seems like its well oriented for 12oz soda cans, but bigger stuff often won't work.

My #1 Wish on the list:

Do your OWN THING. BE MCLAREN. Stop listening to idiots in the press. Over time, they got used to the 911 being a marginal upgrade thing with minimal evolution. They’ll get used to what you’re doing and then will love you for it. And there is a lot to be said for porsches approach. And there is a lot to be said of ferrari's flamboyant approach (nothing good to be said about their dealer/customer relations, but I digress). They've made their 'own thing' and McLaren should stick to its own 'own thing'. With time, the press will get it. But I fear if all McLaren does is cowtow to idiots in the press, it may lose itself.

But be true to yourself. Don’t blindly respond to idiots with an opinion. Including me. Don’t be reactionary for the sake of being reactionary. Be thoughtful. Be unrelentingly McLaren. Thats what I love about my 12C. I want to see more of that in the P14.

(Oh yea, and less swooshes, for god's sake, it's not cowbell, you can have too much of it. And I get it. It's a Mclaren. I don't need million swooshes to get that. I should get its a McLaren from the way it works. The F1 became iconic, not because it has swooshes, it was swooshless, but because of the way it drives.)

Agree, if it is going to be twice the cost of a 570S, it better be twice the car or I am out...I will keep the 12C until it becomes a classic...not that it is a bad thing

P14 Wishlist

I'd think the P14 would be pegged to the 488 price, as the 12C was more-or-less at par with the 458.

The 675LT wouldn't be the baseline of the P14 with regards to pricing, I'd think(?) The former is such a specialized platform offering, where it’s premium relative to the “base” model (namely 650S) due to many unique components & bits.

With that said, I'm already lost in anticipation towards the P14 reveal! May be the Sport Series 570S GT release may satiate my new-McLaren model-release lust...

My P14 wishlist:

- 675's rear end or a derivative of it (currently the most beautiful McLaren rear end)

- 675 exhaust sound (high pitch sound)

- keep the current 650S side air vent

- 100 lb lighter

- slightly larger rear aero spoiler

- some trickle down tech from 675

- larger race seat

Do you guys think the engine will be a derivative of the current unit, or something completely new?

The current engine, definitely, maybe with direct injection ( this is a dream that will not come true) and an outside chance with hybrid.....but I'm not betting on that.

The engine. It's the heart and soul of any car. It is also McLarens weak link relative to the competition.

Very hard for McLaren to finance a clean sheet design. But if they don't, they'll always be just that little bit behind. No matter how good the Monocell is.

There are now plenty of examples of turbo + supercharged small capacity engines.

I thought the one in the Jaguar C-X75 revving to 11,000 rpm sounded very good.

Volvo have something similar in the pipeline.

Ditch the batteries on the performance variant for a flybrid system.

Win the Formula 1 WDC + WCC in order to finance the above.

Not sure why it keeps winning the worldwide engine under 4 litre category award then

Probably after P14.

The F1 division has nothing to do with the Automotive one. So whatever happens, it won't affect McLaren Automotive. Maybe it would have been beneficial for Auto if the F1 team were to make their own engines a few years back instead of resorting to Honda, sadly, they're not that financially strong.
