Novitec Rear Wing...

Anyone install one on their 570S? I briefly watched a YouTube video of one being installed, but didn’t pay too much attention to a couple of details... seems you have to cut the inner edge of the trim piece that covers the engine bay, and the mounting bracket comes up through that cutout area and the wing bolts to those. I’d like to know if anyone has firsthand experience installing one and the level of difficulty in doing so?

The install is easy. Getting the rear deck lid off is simple on the coupe (the spider has an electrical connector in awkward place, but still pretty straightforward) - just 4 bolts under the hatch where the oil and water caps are. Remember to put masking tape along the sides of the deck lid before removing it as it typically ends up touching (masking tape is the approved McLaren method, as per the repair manual!).

You then have to remove the OEM rear bracket - 11 bolts if I remember right - and replace it with the new bracket that the wing struts will attach to.

The cutting is the most grueling part. My Agency Power wing came with a plastic template. I believe the Novitec comes with some kind of template too (they both fit the same way). The bit you're cutting is just plastic, so cut slowly, and it's pretty easy. Took me about 30 mins to do the left side my first time, then only 10 mins to do the other side.

Then just attach the struts, put the deck lid back on, and then mount the wing.

If you're experienced, you could probably do the whole thing in about 30 mins. A first time DIY, could take you a couple hours.

Thanks!

Z.

Want one. But just can't part with $6k for a wing that should be 1/2 that-at most! If anyone has access to better options/pricing lemme know. Of course I'd love Novitec. Agency Power is starting to grow on me. Anyone looked into an OEM (or similar) decklid so that if wanna go back to stock, its available? Just curious

I agree with you about the price, unfortunately in my opinion, the only one that looks like it’s made for the car is the one from Novitec. The rest look too ACR Viperish or hard core racecar and don’t flow with the lines of the car. Sucks it’s so expensive though... 😕

Ahhhhhh... ya killin meh! I want that damn wing so bad. Just hard to justify spending stupid money on that thing when I’ve already spend a fortune on these damn cars in the last few months.

I will be installing it on my spider, but I have seen it on another, it looks great.

I have seen both the Novitec and the Agency power side by side, Novitec looks OEM and certainly adds aggressiveness to the car, but I gotta tell ya the agency power looks MEAN AS HELL and adds depth, dimension and instant supercar look, but you need the entire rear diffuser as well.

Even my conservative better half said it looks insane, if you like OEM go Novitec, looks great easier for resale, if you want insane and people to gasp when they see your car then I recommend the Agency Power wing with rear diffuser, you can't go wrong with either.

I am installing the Novitec wing on a 2019 570 spider today. Do you have to disconnect the brake light? Also what type of glue for the carbon fiber cover for the hole made in the plastic edging. No instructions. They say any type of glue can be used but high heat in the cover area. Looks light 4 bolts total for the wing install for the side brackets.

Thanks

Any type of epoxy will hold under high heat conditions.

I also have one for sale for $5800
