McSan Diego/Beverly Hills Thermal Track Day

I played hookie yesterday from work to take my 12C to Thermal Club for a McLaren San Diego/Beverly Hills (O'Gara Coach) sponsored track day.

I have done other track days before, but this was my first FULL track day in my 12C. Plus, I got to test out my 2-day old, newly installed Hyper800R methanol injection system. Hypercar Development was nice enough to fly out to San Diego to upgrade my Hyper800 system to Hyper800R remotely. In spite of not being in their own shop, they were able to get the job done (and done well) in a couple of days so that I was able to do the track day. Thanks, Thad and Ollie!

The car is running beautifully, and IATs are nice and cool. I was pushing the car the hardest I ever have. I did multiple sessions all day long until the very end and was running wide-open throttle to redline each lap. The car never complained. It performed beautifully. And my top speeds at the end of the straight were pretty much on par with 720s driven by more experienced drivers and a 600 LT driven by a professional racecar driver, so I was happy there.

O'Gara put on an incredible event as usual. First class all the way. I highly recommend attending one of their events if you get a chance.

Looks like fun! Did the boost juice make a difference after you put it in?

Boost juice is about 50:50 water/methanol and as such isn't flammable.

I just added Hypercar Development's methanol injection kit (Hyper800R) and had the car tuned for it, so yes, the Boost Juice made a huge difference. Intake air temps were below ambient even with wide open throttle, redline runs all day long. My car also has their upgraded heat exchangers too.

I burned through about 2 gallons of boost juice on a full track day.

Here's some info on methanol injection if you're curious: https://www.snowperformance.net/Wate...-Gas-s/187.htm
