Kevin, Sean, my 2012 12C is making a very short sound on cold start -- sounds like pulling a chain over a sprocket ... if that make's sense. I can try to text a video in a few days when I run the car again. When the cam phasers are failing, is that noise a symptom?

'Sup, Kev? Congrats, as I see you are now one of our Super Moderators here on the site...

Your recuperation has been in my prayers, and I hope you're getting closer to feeling like your old self again!

I may never need your help, but knowing you're around is of some comfort, even before I'm an owner.

Hey Kevin! It's Chuck out in Cali. I need your knowledge as to whether the 720S 10 spoke ultralight wheels will fit & work without issue on my 650! My Superlights are all beat up (seems they were poorly painted or PC'd at some point). I want lighter wheels and need to buy new tires anyway. Also, I have found only ONE pic of the ultralights for a 650 and if it is correct they are awful looking! You have any pics?

Hi, I recently had a p2765 code pop up on my 12c. I was wondering if you could possibly give me some info on how about to go about making sure everything is ok. The car drives completely fine and I only found the code just doing a normal scan with my scanner. It’s never popped up on the dash. Thanks Cody !

Looks like a transmission sensor code. Please PM me directly for additional discussion to resolve the issue.

Interestingly, I DO NOT see it listed in the McLaren Published list of DTC's

Complete List of ECU Diagnostic Trouble Codes

    Hi Ima,

Hope you well bro. Wanted to ask, you once spoke about an OBD app called OBD link. Do you know if its possible to measure wastegate duty cycle with this app on our MAcs?

Unfortunately that is not one of the PID's available in the standard menu list of monitored sensors. As I understand it, the OBDlink MX+ is capable of the user programming in specific PID's, but I think a working knowledge of HEX Decimal and also knowing the specific HEX codes for the McLaren sensors is required. This puts it beyond most normal users.

Hi. I was looking at Ziff's old 6/6 project alpha (from a dealer, not from ziff), didn't pass the PPI. Do you happen to know where #5 is?

Hey Dude! Hope you are progressing well... and REALLY hope you end up better off than I! Anyway, there is a guy selling a pair of the soft close actuators here on the forum and he said to make him an offer. I have no idea what these should go for. He says they are new unopened.... Thoughts?

    Thx Chuck

Kevin, shame on me for not chiming in sooner to say that I hope all is going well in your recovery. It's funny how you can get a sense of a guy by just tapping around on a keyboard, and you just seem like the kinda guy I'd enjoy hanging out with. Who knows...might be driving through ATL visiting wife's relatives one day?? Hang in there, many of us are pulling for you.

Fuel filler latch: Just curious, how did you get the old latch out? Did you just break it and then just push the new one in place? I haven't looked that closely at mine and I do have a warranty but it isn't worth waiting for when I take the car for service for something this easy. Thanks for your advise.

Hi, looking to do soft close on my 12C spider '13. The EMF audio YouTube video makes it look easy but the write-up on the '14 spider looks much more complicated. Is there a new method for spiders? Thanks for your help.

The soft close update procedure is the same for all P11 models (12C, 625, 650S, 675LT, etc)

    -Cheers!

Is Radenso unit you just posted about superior to Escort 360ci? I'm longtime fan of Escort's windshield-mounted units, and I'm curious...thanks!

Hi Bob... YES! It is superior to anything else available. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a dealer for the product. Actually I became a dealer because in my research I discovered it is the best (and that way I can have the best on my own vehicles for less!) :)

PLEASE do a bit of online research and you will find my opinion to be true. ADDITIONALLY I have personally actually tested the laser jamming system using actual police laser speed detectors (my shop owns the $15,000 DRAGON EYE just for testing purposes to insure each new system is working properly after the install is completed)

Hi there, awesome job on the dash removal. I have a screw rattling inside mine on turning left/right.
I tried this, had it half way off, then gave up. Between the rattle and a clunk, I am about ready to sell the car and get another. Also do you perhaps have any additional pics on how to get the dash off /out?
Anyway thanks again, now I know its possible : )

I don't have additional exact details. If you look closely at the pics of my dash removed, you will see the bolt/screw locations to give you a better idea were they are hidden/located.

Sorry I don't have more info. Good luck with the project!
