The only one you guys are missing is the Gallardo Spyder in blue.

Very nice collection you have Syd.

Thanks, the '250GTE' is actually a close cousin, the 250GT Ellena. Thought it would be hardest to get!

I thought the nose protruded a bit differently than a typical GTE but my knowledge of old Ferraris isn't the best.

Beautiful car. How long have you had it?

I have had it for a couple of years now. Hoping it will get me into the Mille Miglia, but it's a long shot.... It's a great thing to drive although with drum brakes ( and needless to say, no servo assistance! ) it is more physical than a modern car. The steering is pretty good too but you have to adjust also to a more physical approach and with a relatively long wheelbase it doesn't turn in like a modern car. All in all though it is fun to drive and like all cars getting to know the idiosyncrasies is part of that fun.

Wonderful, you do need a very different driving style for the older Ferraris. Slow in power out on the corners.

On the Mille Miglia, JazzyO has done both the revival and the tribute:

and might be able to share some insights

Default Mille Miglia

Thanks Boxer,
I think the revival interests me more than the tribute. It would still be fun I'm sure in a modern car, but not quite the challenge of 1000 miles in a fifty year old car. I didn't know that you could rent an eligible car, that's quite interesting. Otherwise the thought of simply buying your way in with a suitable car (like a certain TV chef) had crossed my mind. However, I really want to do it in the Ferrari. I should hear in the next 24 hours anyway and then of course I will probably change my mind about how to get in if I'm not successful this time. Wouldn't be surprised to be wait listed in which case it's just a question of what position I am on the list.
I did hear a rumour on another forum that perhaps they were struggling to fill the places on the the Tribute. I see there is now a sort of copycat in the form of the Targa Florio running in October.
Of course I have no skill whatsoever in time trials and would have to do a sudden bit of practice if I do get accepted!

From what I have gathered, they have no issue filling the places, the problem is trying to get the right mix of cars between modern and classic. Much easier to get in if you are applying with a 275 GTB or a 250 Lusso, near impossible if you are one of a hundred plus applicants with a 430.

Good-looking tiles in that garage, Syd! I obviously am not keeping an eye on enough topics on McLarenLife and missed my opportunity to shine!

I am not sure if I have said before, Boxer - lovely collection!

You've keeping very quiet as to what you're getting!

Does this mean I missed the opportunity to shoot the K'egg?

Nope, K'egg is still here (well nearly, it is off being serviced right now).

Is it serviced locally or do you return it to Sweden?

Also, do those cars have a rubber fuel bladder that needs occasional replacement?
