Default P12 Project

Latest rumor is that the P12 project is a go and will have a 600 bhp V10 engine. Styling is said to closely follow the McLaren F1. Launch date is targetted for 2012. Anyone have any more info?

I haven't heard much new leaks yet but am prowling for more info myself. Mid engine V10? Nice! That combo worked very well on the Porsche Carrera GT.

I have heard that internally the goal is to top the performance of Ferrari's Enzo replacement.

Given the original F1's success at Le Mans, prehaps a McLaren Le Mans (similar to the Ferrari Daytona) would be in order. It would also be great to see McLaren back at Le Mans.

I was hoping to see a V10 or V12.

or at least a detuned version of the V8 in the current McLaren F1 cars.

1000 kg should be the target.

Is TAG talking about the Ferrari or the Mclaren? The post he quoted mentions both, and the Enzo replacement is supposed have a V8TT also.

I wouldn't think the V8s in the current F1 cars have enough torque for a road car.

New thinking chassi solutions

Least polution for such a car

0-62 MPH in <3 seconds

0-186 MPH in <19 seconds

VMax >230 MPH

Laptimes <15-20 seconds faster than the 12C around the Nurburgring. 12C laps it in with Corsa tires <7 minutes.
