Bah, forget hints. I flat told the dealer that the second they catch a whiff of a list, let me know and I'll wire a deposit.

Definitely... now if only I could take delivery of my 12C... but at least dealer cars are here, meaning customer cars are soon to follow. March cannot come soon enough!

Other than the price, it seems in line with what we are hearing.

Prices I'm hearing are all over the map. What gives me hope for the lower end of the spectrum is that McLaren has already stated they'll be using the same CF tub as used in the 12C - so that'll keep manufacturing and development costs down significantly.

Hyper, were was it you saw the quote for using the same tub?I Thought they would use the same process, but with more CF to keep the weight down?? But not the same tub

A few places online, and I vaguely remember that it was a direct quote, not some auto-jouo postulating.

if there have been they probably looked like 12C's

I would be surprised if they used the same tub, same style i can see but with such a low volume they could afford a different tub.
I would expect the use of a lot more exotic materials through out the car as well, to keep weight and size down. Maybe go down the SLR route with a complete carbon car and sub frames.
What about the power plant ? anyone hear about that ?

Thought is a very underestimated process

The LHD extended MP4 based mule I spotted on the A3 a few weeks ago might well have been the one.

Some say that the name is Can Am? That TAG McLaren (Engine) name could be on the cards? V8 TT 5.0, 6.0 litre! 800-900 ps! 2400-2500 lb dry weight! Fully CF chassi as F70, Aventador etc! Anyway the price is going to be decided by the price of the Ferrari F70! Lucky you who could get your bank manager to sign the cheque!;-)

I bet it is the same tub, that mould is very complicated and thus expensive.

Plus they will keep small dimensions so the car can be used in small Italian towns and big cities , plus parked up on the Cote D'Azure.
