from my 458. No, not the depriciation. After a 1000 mile weekend I was half-deaf and walking like a old quarterback. It called forth memories of my 911 turbos. In fact I miss them. Especially the turbo s, a man for all seasons with more torque than the Aventador.
I'm happy to step forward now and then to defend the 458. It's easy. But anyone who says it is a daily driver is kidding themselves. At this point I'd happily swap it for a 430 Scud and an M5. Owners of the above cars, can I expect better from the 12C? I enjoy a certain rawness but am hoping for much more comfort and versatility. |

You'll get it in spades.
I've driven a 12C all day and come out fresh as a daisy (in fairness, I don't have similar long-term experience in a 458, to compare to). However - I drove e39s (540i MSport 6-Speeds) for a decade/300K miles and I can honestly say a long trip in a 12C is actually LESS taxing than that. ...now a day driving at Willow Springs might be different! Because McLaren. |

550 miles with one stop for take away coffee ( we have a portable toilet in the MP12 care of MSO) NO PROBLEM for my wife or the driver.......truly a long distance car that can do raw on track or the public road.
When I tested the 458 the seats came across as very good but I only did two hours. The salesman said there was not a toilet option. roundincircles Started with Scalextric Various 911's from 1991 MP12, BMW GS 1200 Wasserboxer ,BMW K1600, CVO Road King MY13 |

It is a comfy car, very quiet, very fast. Even though I am not looking for this kind of car, sounds like you are.

No 1K mi drive here but a few months back, my friend with 458 and I did a 300mi. road trip and he swore he'd never take italia for any road trip as oppose to I've done a few more long road trips afterwards. I'd rather take MP4 for a long road trip than my other rides CLS63 and Cayenne Turbo and I'm not kidding.

1000 mile road trip? Why not drive your Lexus, Bentley, or RR? Or maybe your Denali?

Driving to LA from SF on friday, back sunday. Longest I've done roundtrip in the 12C - about 800 miles in 48 hours - I'll let you know. But I have over 8100 miles on the clock, and it is WAY more comfortable than my Lambo or Cayman were, and more comfortable than the X3.
Current rides: MP4-12C, Porsche Boxster S, BMW X3, BMW S1000RR Waiting on: McLaren P1 or Koenigsegg Agera R or Porsche 918... tough choice! (Either way, should still be stuffed with Swedish supermodels.) |

1000KM in 30 hours, longest for me so far. Got back and wife said "you must be exhausted". Not really, I replied, but should have lied as she then put me to work.

Select "Race" mode, and push shock button on steering wheel, this is too harsh a ride for you? Did you get cruise? Most 458's skip this option, mine will not.
