Default Apparently I lack taste.

Messing about with the McLaren configurator and Photoshop and this is the machine I came up with.

The vent, spoiler, wheels and wing mirrors are supposed to be white.

Incidentally, has anyone got a car with a 'driver focused' interior? I think it looks fantastic!

I kinda like it. Why did you choose the base wheels? I like the driver focused interior but I think that it will kill the resale.

I guess this rendering is about aesthetics, hence the base wheels. Did you see the white Dallas car with white wheels? I think it looks great (though I want to see more pictures of it!).

Out of interest, why do you think the driver focused interior would reduce it's resale value?

It's a very special feature that you don't see often. In the resale market, most cars, even exotics revert to the conservative set ups. The driver focused is a bit personal. It doesn't mean some one else won't want it. It's just that if you were going trade it, a dealer would be concerned that they would hold the car for a long time.

Agree on base wheel aesthetics. I think with some colour specs they just fill the volume better. The Lightweight wheels have a lot of spare air between the spokes and without carbon discs filling up the area behind the wheels, think it can make the steels look a little small.

I totally agree; I don't see why McLaren can't use a larger diameter steel rotor since the space exists ? Small appearing rotors, behind open, bold looking wheels, looks a bit like some teenagers' cars I've seen.

I like the standard wheels, although my favorite is the light wheels. The super light dont do it for me. to busy. Not sure about the rest of your options though ! red with white might hurt resale a little

Because larger steel rotors would be heavier and not appreciably increase braking performance.

Frankly I'm not buying this car for other people to look at. I'm buying it for me to enjoy. If I wanted to be flashy a Gallardo would have been a much better choice...

Im not sure the Gallardo would be considered flashy anymore if you parked it next to a 12c,far too old fashioned and angular now compared to the lines of the Mclaren IMO

That is you, sir.
I'm buying the car as a street car, and for nothing else. So, any slight extra weight at each corner, wouldn't matter to (or, be discerned by) me whatsoever. And, since I have to look at the vehicle more than anyone else, I prefer a more uprated steel rotor diameter. Beefier looking brakes surely don't equate 'flashiness' to me. But ... everyone has their own partiality.

Sure, you're entitled to your opinion. My point is that it is against the McLaren philosophy of form following function, not the other way around.

Sorry i have to agee, even at MSO Mclaren have said they will do anything provided it will not detract from the original performace spec, any changes would have to leave the car the same or improve its performance.
Im sure someone will offer an iron brake rotor larger ,but it will not be Mclaren because it would be a backward step
