good find! I saw the back carbon bits on on the matte orange car in Monterey. I wonder what it would cost to do the roof in carbon fibre.

The CF above the exhaust behind the rear window is guaranteed to turn yellow due to heat from the exhaust. Then it will look crap.

Beverly Hills had a VR in the window last week with the MSO front fenders.
Rest of it looked fairly standard.

Plus will likely 'warp'........CF (resin) is greatly affected by thermo-cycling and uv light.......had CF on my boxsters center console after 3yrs required replacement due to warping

I was with a mate who has an MSO rear louvre on his car the states last week. I was surprised that there was virtually no sign of significant yellowing - and he drives his car HARD!

I regret not getting one myself now.

I know someone who works with CF as a contract engineer for many of the F1 teams, and he wouldnt be specific for obvious reasons, but i asked him about the longevity of these options, and he explained that as race teams operate in a differnet sphere to normal manufactures he could see no problem,as they have ways of using CF that we wouldnt be aware of,and knowing how Mclaren works it would be a natural progression to impliment this to road cars.

I had no problem with CF yellowing in my challenge stradale nor my f430. With McLaren doing their own Carbon fibre, I doubt it will yellow given their attention to detail.

That particular steering wheel is actually mine...it wasn't ready when my car was being shipped to the US. The dealer is swapping it out today.
I was glad that MSO didn't delay shipping the car just for the steering wheel.
Hopefully I'll ge the car in the next few days (the wrap and other bits are taking some time)...although now I'm thinking of swapping out the leather on the steering wheel to alcantara. We'll see.
