NO SLICKS! Testcar was equipped with fully street legal Michelin Pilot Cup 2. Tire warmers were only used because of the extremly cold outside temperature (4 degree Celsius)

Awesome time as per the other thread (maybe merge the 2?)

then again... in today's world where a saloon does (Alfa Giulia) does 7:37, a hatch (VW golf gti CS) does 7:47, and worst of all a SUV (cayenne) is sub 8 mins... perhaps less of a surprise.....?

Have they announced pricing on the GT R?

Very committed lap. Car looks really well balanced, great traction.

Pretty amazing that the air temp was 4 degrees. I would not want to be driving the Ring at 10/10ths in the middle of winter. Such an unpredictable circuit.

Sport auto driver, not AMG factory driver? Sport auto is usually quite far off of the best time with a factory effort. This could easily be a 7:00 car.

Regardless, 7:10 is impressive enough.

but where does the LT fit in? assuming the LT gets his own custom cup2's like the gt-r (their better than trofeo R right?)
so does that mean all these cars smash the 918 basically? value for money wise?

Apparently AMG is offering two different compound Cup 2s, a regular Cup 2, and a stickier Cup 2.
