Launch Edition Specs....

Is there a link to Specs and pricing on LE cars? When I had a conversation with the GM he offhandedly mentioned he could get me an car if I wanted. Just looking for a quick link to the colors and Specs. I know there's another thread with some pics but wanted a solid link....thanks

Should be nice. I have a specced car coming in at the end of Sept. In Cosmos with quite a bit of MSO in and out.

I am on quene for a launch edition as well at the moment, but Mclaren Seoul has not announced the pricing yet. A bit strange that some folks are almost getting their cars delivered in other countries or other major markets but our retailer has not even announced the pricing. I know that there is a benefit of receiving your car early but what other benefits are there in buying launch edition, besides having "launch edition" plaque on the vehicle? Since the options are heavy on these, would it cost more to order a vehicle with the same spec/options as the launch edition, i.e. price benefit?

Very little price benefit. The main benefit in Europe is the delivery between May and September of this year, in driving season. Getting a 720S in October and having to wait until spring arrrives to really get it going should be little fun. There may also be a better resale value if your sell your car earlier.

Kind of odd that you don't have pricing yet? Per my launch car, I'll have it for 3 months then sell it when my specced car arrives. I was already offered a buyback at MSRP from the LE selling dealer so I'm ok with that.

Unfortunately, the dealers/retailers in Korea, whether it be Ferrari, MB, BMW, or Lambos, do not buy back cars. They only sell. You either consign or sell it to the Used Car specialists. Hence, there is no guarantee of how much the car will sell for. The DOT test mule will arrive early May, and the first batch of the launch editions will arrive in June. There are total of 10 launch models coming to Korea and I will most likely receive the second batch car which will be in August. My spec'd car will arrive in the winter of '17, so I was hoping to roll over at that point. My selection was Glacier White/Performance (All options from the configurator except for the MSO Defined ones) but wanted to Spec it to Amethyst Black with bucket seats, MSO Defined options, such as the steering wheel, engine cover, and bonnet, amongst the ext carbon pckgs and interior pck2. Considering the estimated price to be in the circa of $430k USD (650Spyder was avg $400k USD, and 675LT Coupe was 500k), the title and registration fee in Korea is 7% of the listed price(the listed price includes 10% VAT and other misc tax/duties) would be roughly 30k USD. In addition, assuming I would consign the car and discount the value by roughly 10%, I will lose around 70-80k USD within 4 months period, just to roll over to the spec car. I don't know if that is the right thing to do, so may consider getting the deposit back and cancel the spec car and just buy the Spyder in '19 or '20. Besides, because the pricing has not been set, the retailer has received the deposits and placed people in line, but the actual ordering has not even been started. My heart tells me that 80k loss is definitely worth it but my brain tells me otherwise. ...

I was actually hoping that the launch edition will save at least 20-40k USD, compared to the Spec car. Hell, my glacier white performance is all black interior, which is something I really really really hate. Should I cancel the Spec car, I will probably go to a third party upholstery shop and replace some portions of the black upholstery to either red or cuoio. Really cannot understand why they would put all black on the launch car.

Performance LE has typically colored stripes in the seats and on the dashboard, and doors. E.g. Scoria grey and McLaren orange. All black sounds more like the basic car. As for pricing, for Performance LE you should expect a price not much different from the 675LT, if they use the same mechanism as in Europe.

If there are only ten LE cars are coming to your market, you should expect a quite good resale value. Unless people shy away from used cars in general and also for exotics.

From my perspective, I think you'd be better off skipping the Launch Edition car and waiting to spec your own. The biggest reason I say this is that it sounds very much like the launch edition you are being offered is nearly the exact opposite of the car you want.

We only got two Glacier White and my, performance, was black/black, and the other one was Tan but luxury, which was taken by like the second or third person in line. I was 7/10, so did not have much choice. I didn't want memphis red or saros since I have similar colored cars in the garage. ㅠㅠ

LOL, I have tried but if I cancel the launch car, that would place me back to like .... #40 something. I was able to cut in front of the line because the spec ordering for existing launch edition owners are given priority pass. I would have placed my deposit for the spec car from the start if I had known that I was going to be handed a black/black. Never thought Mc would ever do black/black on a launch car, nor bundle the performance pckg exclusively with carbon roof instead of the glazed.

That is starting to sound like soemthing Ferrari dealers would do. Hence, why I like the Tesla mantra, no dealer, straight or direct sales.
