No 570LT?

A sports series hardcore version might not be an LT see http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...ore-lt-version

Yes I like that the LT brand be confined to the super series and above cars. The Sport series could add road versions of the 570S GT4 and 570S Sprint cars.

I actually don't think it's a bad idea to skip that on 570. Keep that 570 line price point manageable and if you want to jump into LT, then you will need to jump to Super. Will be interesting to see what they do...

with a $2000 ECU mod already the 570 is almost equal to the 675LT, no need for an LT version

In my opinion the 570S is the "LT-version" of the 570GT. With an additional LT model, perhaps it will be too tight in the super series product line.

I think we'll definitely see a hardcore version of the 570. McLaren aren't going to miss out on a chance to capitalise on hardcore variants. I just believe they'll give it a name like 570GTR or something else that isn't LT. To warrant giving it the LT name means giving it a wing of sorts and I don't see them doing that personally.

As someone that's expecting a hardcore variant of the sports series this quote from Flewitt confirms nothing. Whether they call the variant LT or something else, I think it's 100% going to happen. I think calling it LT is a good idea and will only help solidify that brand even more but if they go with something else, I'd by fine with that but if they tried to minimize the hardcore-ness, I'd be much less interested.

You are perfectly right... as long as you stay on runways, but if you want to drive your car, it's another story.

I agree I think they will create it, its generally how you extend the lifecycle..at some point they have to refresh and a variant model will extend the 570 production a year or two.

I wouldn't be surprised if the hardcore version of the sports series is called something other than "LT" but I do fully expect there will be some hardcore variant. I actually like Nick's "GTR" suggestion for the name. From a numbers perspective the 720s certainly did open up a large enough performance gap between the sports series and the super series to allow for the top end of the sports series to push upwards a bit.

590. If they add "LT" or not, doesn't matter to me. I'm getting one regardless of name.

Equal in what exactly?

LT is coming for sure. Whether they name it LT or something else, who knows? Doesn't matter what they call it. More track oriented version will come. Would be leaving money on the table otherwise.

It won't come soon though. There isn't even a Spider yet. They'll not only want a Spider to show up first, but they'll want P11 100% finished, because a 570 LT will eclipse the 650S in performance IMO.

+1 the long tail moniker would indicate some sort of wing or stretch. If 570 got some sort of active aero "long tail" wing it might undercut one of the big upsell points from sports to super series.

It makes ZERO sense for McLaren to skip making an LT version of the 570S. Porsche is doing it with both the Cayman/Boxster line and 911 line so McLaren should be doing it as well. With the 720S coming online there's a very nice US$100,000 price difference now between the Sports and Super Series so plenty of room to sneak in track focused road car between the two lines. Considering they already make a GT4 and Sprint version this makes a lot of sense. It actually makes MORE sense to do this with the Sports Series because it's more affordable and more accessible.
